If it happens organicly within the big players (Topps/upper deck) it would be very cool, but just some random maker forcing out crypto cards to ride the hype, I’d have ZERO interest.  Just my 2 Satoshis.
My thoughts exactly.  I'm old enough to have been burned with manufactured collectibles made by the millions before, especially cards.  Even if there were an extremely limited amount, I'd be leery of buying anything just for the sake of owning something rare.  That's not to say this idea doesn't appeal to me, because it does, but I think my days as a card collector are pretty much over.

Except if there were any bitcointalk-related cards....then I might just have to buy them.  There was some discussion a few months back about such a thing, but it didn't really go anywhere.

Edit:
I’d rather support projects like Kryptowerk’s decks etc....

Agree it would have to be Topps, upperdeck, leaf or another major sportscard company

I wouldn't say ANY other sportscard maker.  I guess Donrus\LEAF could work as well, but at $50.00/box.  Topps or upper deck at $60.00 - $70.00/box.  Anything more than that would be taking advantage of the community.... especially if the maker is doing it to ride the hype train. The secondary market is a whole other animal.  If the hype pushes the price up, great.  If it collapses, great.  The point is there should be ZERO   premium from the manufacturer.  Their job is to make cards and sell them wholesale.  The buyers will determine if the market is good or bad.  Wink

Wasn't the X set box originally $75? If one could get it before everyone walks all over it, as far as pricing goes....I'd be in. But $300 a box with no guarantees.....would depend on where I stand with disposable cash, at that time.

I heard 70 bucks a box.  i might be a few every year just for fun.

how many boxes per case?

if 12 boxes, $3000 for a single card seems a little steep to hope that it might be valuable.......

This would automatically make it out of reach for most crypto collectors...

And I would imagine immediate secondary sales of at least double triple face value

Good point, maybe 20 boxes per case

Exactly.  It's a slippery slope with sportscar manufacturers.  They will saturate the market until every last penny is squeezed out.  If done right I'd be interested

Was curious as to how many of us would purchase a case of sportscards if there was at least one limited crypto card in each case.  Let's say total cases 300  @ the ginter x pricing say 250.00 a box.

I will start it off with definately buy
