Hi Maged, if you need to see anything from me, happy for you to check out the PMs between Pastory and myself.

It becomes pretty self evident after you see the photos ..

Won't really mean anything. Just don't buy from unknown people without an escrow.

Normally, I would agree - however all he had to do is find another camera from somewhere, open the boxes and take a shot. Not something that would have disadvantaged him in any way whatsoever. Taking a clear shot of his ID instead of sending something totally illegible and then saying "sorry, that's all i can do - take it or leave it" is rather suspicious

If I was Pastory99, I would be jumping through hoops right now to prove that I wasn't a scammer and if all I had to do is provide clear shots of the products I was selling (and of my id) I'd be jumping at the chance. Instead, I get messages from him asking I take the thread down because his reputation may suffer but absolutely nothing to back up his claims he isn't a scammer.

Since he is continuing to (attempt) to scam (unsuccessfully, so far), does that allow the use of the scammer tag? Or does that require a confirmed successful scam followed by additional attempted scams?

I guess he just met the requirement for his dog tag this scumbag.
Indeed. I've just gone ahead and messaged pastory99 for his side of the story. Depending on what I hear, I may need more information from jaybones.

Did you get your money back jaybones? Has Pastory99 got his scammer stripes yet?
Sounds like jaybones did get his money back, according to Pastory99. jaybones, can you confirm?

I'm still communicating with Pastory99. I'm giving him one last chance to respond to my latest message to him.

Well on the 6th i sent him half payment for 7 coins..
we agree on 500 dollars for the 7 coins..

He didnt want to do an escrow and we agreed for half now and half after i get goods..
Well its been 10 days, all he said is he won't ship till i send him other half..

I told him to send just 2-3 coins at lease.. i pay him rest and more for shipping for remaining coins..

But looks like i'm out 50.7 btc($250 dollars)...

I'm still waiting to hear back from him..

So be aware of this guy.

I think that if enough people ignore his requests,he'll at least think twice before pulling something off.As for the scammer tag,it appears that there needs to be a confirmed scam (from what I could see anyway.I could be wrong on this though) before the tag gets applied.Look at the other posts where the person was marked as a scammer. It usually follows a trend where the poor guy gets scammed before the scammer gets his deserved tag.

He just tried to scam me as well. Tried to sell me an EVE character that didnt belong to him - I looked up the char and it had just been sold to someone else on the EVE forms for ISK earlier today.

Pastory99 asked me to take this thread down.

I asked him to open the boxes and show me the sealed individual units inside.. this is what he replied

dude..did you not understand the part about the boxes being sealed, and me not able to open them unless I had a guaranteed buyer? How would I know you had the money in the first place and would have bought them, not going to open them for you just to show pictures and then risk the chance of you just backing down...

He's so full of shit. Tell him to go pound sand.

Seemed that way to me too - lots of one liners. Nothing of substance.

Sad

I was about to do a deal with him. Guess I won't. Thanks for the heads up.

Let us know what he does ..

He was happy to do a deal with PayPal as long as it was a gift saying that could be charged back if I didn't get the goods  ... he says he's in upstate NY but his IP says San Fran ..

Paypal + gift option is a pain in the ass. YOU CAN'T CHARGE BACK unless you are using a stolen cc to send the money, which Paypal will charge him back when the CC company contacts them. NEVER send using gift for physical goods, especially with scammers all around.

I put a WTB message up a few weeks ago looking for 5970s in bulk.

I was contacted by Pastory99.

He offered me 40 at $300 each.

I asked him to send me photos of the boxes and a photo of his ID so I could verify they were real

I got a photo of two large brown boxes - nothing visible. When I asked him to open the boxes and take photos of what was inside, he told me he can't do that and that he could only do it for a genuine buyer (?!)

His ID was blurred and unreadable. When I asked him to scan it, he told me he doesn't have a scanner and his camera can't take clear shots.

BEWARE!
