5830s arent terribly efficient. You would be better served with 3 5870s or perhaps 2 5970s.

I choose the 5830's because of the price (75 USD) and my hydro is only 0.05 a kwh.

Be advised, there are some issues being reported about automatic reboot after power loss on the A870U3 (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/biostar-a870u3-cannot-auto-power-on-after-power-failure-58441)

I don't own one so can't give any authoritative answer, perhaps a simple bios update would help?

Your setup looks like it should work. I'd recommend getting some good thermal paste and a small bottle of Zoom Spout or 3in1 oil designed for electric motors. The fans on those gpus will probably fail within a few months (I had 2 of 3 on my Sapphire 5850s fail within 3 weeks, same heatsink/fan as the ones you want)

If the fans begin to slow down or make noise, take the heatsink off and remove the fan, then pry up on both sides of the fan blades - the fan blades should suddenly pop off, and allow you to add a drop of oil into the bearing. I've done this with all my gpu fans now and they've been running for months now after being re-oiled. Replacing the thermal paste while you're in there and you should see some cooler temperatures as well.

So I am getting ready to build my first mining rig and was hoping that I could get some opinions from the more experienced miners on my proposed setup. Will it work? Is this everything Ill need to get up and running or am I missing some components? Are there any potential problem areas you see?

Thanks!
