Also, in a POC businesses, POC can wear their masks and wouldn't have to worry as much about being mistaken as a robber, shot, or having police called on them because of their color. The risk is only elevated when POC enter white spaces with their face covered.
You can end the contortions. The county backed off this nonsense and rescinded the exemption. There was no way this was going to work out as intended, whether the intent was to protect the feewings of allegedly racist white business owners, or to protect people of color against profiling, or to make county bureaucrats feel better about themselves.

Not sure what the local officals thought was going to happen here. This was obviously a bad thought process that would only lead to more discrimination. You're now allowing an entire group of people to avoid wearing a mask, and singling them out when you're issuing the guidelines. Now everyone is wearing masks but the black people. Not even sure how this would even prevent racial profiling, seems like all it would do is increase it due to one group of people being singled out an in attempt to 'help' them.
Talk about patronizing a group of people.
