Outperforming as in: Marketcap, Price, Volume, etc?

Price.  Should have made that clear, edited original. Market cap is something to wonder about over long term since Bitcoin is so dominant, but on a short/mid term horizon of say 1-6mths, whats going to beat Bitcoin in outright price/RoI performance?  I see a lot of the same names pop up for tips to invest, when I look at the graph the performance to Bitcoin isn't so great. Example (and i didnt want to beat up on anything), Etherum is doing OK, but has gone sideways for 6mths, and very poor against BTC.

Or put another way, whats going to start to catch up with Bitcoin rather than simply shadow performance.

agree, IOTA is one I've been holding for a while because it's one of the few coins I believe is not simply speculation but I really believe in the technology. The supply is fixed, no transaction fees, near-instant transactions, infinite scalability, quantum-proof. In terms of functionality it'll (or is already) be way better than bitcoin, but that doesn't mean btc won't outperform it for a while yet. It's a long-term hold for me.

Ether is cool too, but what keeps me off it as an investment is because it's not a fixed supply and there are so many competing blockchains coming along with similar or better functionality, meaning demand for ether may not keep up either.

It is quite hard to guess which coin can have better rallies than bitcoin. I suppose with community ethereum, neo and with technology iota could have great bull rallies. Maybe even better than bitcoin.

My bets for a Bitcoin outperformance are all coins with low fees or anon coins which could gain a lot when regulators step into the game.

I bought the following ones:

  • IOTA
  • Byteball
  • XRB
  • AEON
  • ZCASH

No one knows who will win the crypto currency battle, but I think that anon and tangle coins are candidates with the highest potential...

What coins or tokens are likely to outperform Bitcoin in the short, or medium term?  It may have escaped attention that many alternatives doing well against $ are decreasing their value against BTC.  Many examples of coins that have seen very large increased this year, if you had stayed in BTC you'd have done better.  So what coins will perform better to make diversifying out of Bitcoin worthwhile?

Personally I think it would be wise to have Ethers for the long term, since it's still at its baby steps and heavily being developed.

Outperforming is easy... the question is in what time Wink
If you miss the Peak it might just drop again and you outperformed yourself.

Easiest use of that is catching pumps and sell off quick

Many altcoin outperform bitcoin but no coin will beat it in marketcap. Why ? Because no coin can replace it. Its all not about technologies but believe. Many people only believe in bitcoin yea there is some alt mooning. But sometimes its only pump created by whale to grab your bitcoin. If you hold much bitcoin and still want to devirsify your investment. Just dont sell your bitcoin below 50%. Use only 50% of your bitcoin to trade in alt or to invest in very good project.
