But seriously,When you see BTC go up and down like this over a year or so.You realize you're in it mainly for the long run not for short term quick trades of BTC.

Someone running the price up to later cause a crash to discredit bitcoin?

I'm holding on tight though.
Already crashed.

Time to buy!

I don't think it seems too double-bubble yet. It seems like a logical increase from all the new sites accepting btc, as well as some asic hype condensing into orders.

but still, I'm no economist.

I dunno, it feels a bit bubblicious to me. I can't see what in the underlying fundamentals could cause such a rise in the past few weeks.

This is a huge spike with no news pushing it higher. Could be:

-- Hedge fund manager getting creative and building a small stake
-- Big announcement leaked and someone's taking advantage of it
-- banksters think collapse of USD/EUR are imminent
-- trust-fund kid wants to prove to dad he's got what it takes to grow the family fortune
