did I miss something?
I can't find the number of transactions made by Bitcoin ATM.
https://coinatmradar.com/charts/
I wonder how common / how often people used Bitcoin ATM.

This is good news for all of us, back then in 2017 there were several bitcoin ATMs in my country's shopping centers and now they are gone, because maybe the interest in cryptocurrency in my country is not as big as in America so ATM owners withdraw them. Hopefully in the future there will be more Bitcoin ATMs in the country. me to make it easier for people to make transactions and attract people to use cryptocurrency.

That's because of the regulation.
Bitcoin was and still banned as a payment (money).
In Indonesia, it's a cryptoasset not a cryptocurrency.

South East Asian Country with Bitcoin ATM.

Bitcoin ATM is indeed growing since crypto is getting more attention nowadays, though it's not the same in every country or continent. Probably it's not really profitable in your country that's why it did not last, unlike in America where a lot of ATMs are being installed. But it would be really great to see the growing number of ATMs in different countries (not just in America) even if it won't probably be used by a lot of people.

I like that the number of Bitcoin ATMs continue to increase. It can ease the adoption of Bitcoin on different countries. It seems that there is not many Bitcoin ATMs in Europe compared to America. But I believe that the number of them will increase sharply in there too in the future.

I got no use for btc atm anymore after they have forced kyc in them in our country, and whole europe is coming with us later if they haven't implemented it already. Luckily i can still meet people in person and sell them my btc if i want cash. I am guessing that will get harder as well if the the travel rule is implemented.

although we can use exchanger to exchange or withdraw with lower fee, an ATM is still needed when conditions are urgent. I am happy to see bitcoin ATMs growing
you said theres a few already ? but its far away or not available on where you lived .  you dont need to travel to other countries because that cost more time and money but you can travel on that specific place within your country where btc atm are located , only if you are really itching to try and use them but if you dont you can also request one to your mayor's or to the merchants around you but dont worry because the btc atm will soon be available on every places soon when btc becomes mainstream .

And maybe once this pandemic is over, we will see more of these bitcoin ATMs as the adoption is growing. And yes, only few crypto users so far used btc ATM. And yes, he is The Pharmacist -

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/finally-used-a-bitcoin-atm-successfully-5262424

Also, there's another one, Peter R way back in 2013.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/so-i-went-down-to-the-bitcoin-atm-today-330720

But honestly, not many really use bitcoin ATM because most of us convert our crypto to fiat with other means like local exchange, p2p or local remittances. Maybe, because the fee is lower than using this ATM and also the convenience from where you are. Sometimes they are not easily accessible. So whatever is near to you, like local exchange, you use their services. Even me, which has been years in crypto, never tried a btc ATM yet.

I live in Bali, a popular tourist spot.
since there are many foreigners here, bitcoin became a payment option for many stores, hotels, restaurants, and more.
there's also a bitcoin ATM placed in a coworking space, about 20 minutes from my house.
but, before I had a chance to try it, our regulation here in Indonesia banned crypto as a payment.
like you have said, maybe I will used it only because I am curious, not because I need to.

That is foolishness going to another country just to use ATM Bitcoin?you can purchase Bitcoin all over the world so you have no need to do that stupidity.
Chill bro, most probably deadmousehat is just joking. See the "LOL"? So don't take it seriously Grin. Maybe he only want to share the feeling of not having a bitcoin atm in his country, that's all.

Nope ATm machine is Physical way of accumulating Bitcoin when there are so many ways now to purchase online,You can even buy p2p using
escrow, since there are some trusted account here that willing to be an escrow without any single fee asked.
You're right but if there is one near your area then why not? Grab the opportunity because using a bitcoin ATM is a wonderful experience for sure (actually I'm dreaming of using it someday). That was a proof of a growing community so cherish it.

I'm not surprised there are so many bitcoin ATMs in North America.
In these countries there are too many taxes and options for bitcoin are also a way to ensure their wealth is private and convenient. According to my observation, the proportion of Americans using cryptocurrencies and the mining network nodes of different blockchains is very high. I wonder which companies are behind those ATMs and if they are all legal before the US government.

it's been 1.5 months since this thread created, and now we have 9681 crypto ATM in this world.
almost a thousand in 1.5 months.
but, I wonder how this site gathered the data.

That was certainly great that after a couple of months since the thread that the OP have created, a massive growth have been observed that the numbers of present Bitcoin ATMs world wide is approaching 10,000 which is totally awesome to the fact that this is certainly a good sign that Bitcoin adaption can be clearly seen in many parts of the world because of the presence of this Bitcoin ATMs that can provide convenience to the people around the area and will serve as encouragement for non Bitcoin users to get into engagement on getting into Bitcoin usage and adaption which is really good for the demand and popularity of Bitcoin as a whole.

Looking forward that Bitcoin ATMs will still grow in numbers and be located in every countries around the world for among those numbers indicated are mostly on rich countries where Bitcoin adaptation is already present. May be at the future Bitcoin ATMs will be found even at small countries like mine which would be a great thing to happen.

It is pretty a lot actually, I imagine having a bitcoin ATM but not this soon just after a decade. We also have this in our country but it isn't fully implemented yet, there are some trials still in the making to make it out generally to the public, coz even me that I know about bitcoin I'm a bit confuse about it especially when paying the transaction fee.

but, I wonder how this site gathered the data.
I think it has something to do with some connections, things now are easy to monitor when you have tools. What I wonder is that no one has ever got to use a BATM here in the forum except The Pharmacist, if I'm not mistaken lol. ( Is he the one who drove his bike to get there?) just 70% sure.

It's good news knowing the number of Bitcoin ATMs is growing, but interestingly, most of the Bitcoin ATMs in circulation are in the Americas.
This means that the demand for Bitcoin ATMs in America is quite high, even though the American government is very strict on the circulation of
cryptocurrency. This has not stopped Americans from using Bitcoin. I hope that in the future the spread of Bitcoin ATMs will be evenly distributed
on all continents.

Really is this true? Can't believe these statistics they are just too good to believe. Moreover at the same time I am surprised that with rising number of ATMs US government still hasn't brought a full fledged law for cryptocurrencies and still without the law they aren't banning these ATMs the scenario is entirely different in my country. One exchange tried to put up an ATM in a mall which was consequently seized and the owner of the Company was arrested for Fraud.

I'm glad that the number of Bitcoin ATMs is growing, but sincerely I haven't ever used one because of the high fees.

I mean it is convenient than creating an exchange and going through KYC procedures, but is it really worth the fee? You decide, but for me it isn't. A below 5% fee would be acceptable. Hopefully if the trading volume increases we will see a reduction on commissions.

Recent statistics provided by CoinATMRadar now show that the number of bitcoin ATMs installed worldwide have surpassed 8700. Since July 1, 234 new bitcoin ATMs have been installed and as of July 12, the values have reached 8,724 globally. Out of this value, 6493 bitcoin ATMs are located in the united state while Genesis Coin remains the highest producer of Bitcoin ATM machine (3027) https://coinatmradar.com/countries/

The diagram makes it strikingly clear that while 'globally' is technically correct, it's not used in the way one would expect. What I mean is that the vast majority of ATMs is in North America, then just 14% in Europe and almost none in other countries and on other continents. I think that ATMs are useful just to show that they are there and people can always exchange their BTC for fiat or vice versa if they want to. It raises awareness and adds to the status of Bitcoin as something serious. However, many experienced Bitcoin users would never use an ATM because there are much cheaper ways of performing the exchange. That being said, maybe some ATM providers will finally realize that they can lower the fees and still get a lot of money, while also attracting way more users than their competitors.

Actually, I have no interest to use Bitcoin's ATM to take my money through it since they charge 8-10% as a fees that I think that is really huge amount. I just comfortable to withdraw my money to my banking account directly through an exchange, because as of now almost all crypto-exchanges are allowed to withdraw/deposit bitcoin to our bank account which have a low fee.

I do not understand why to use bitcoin ATMs, when you can transfer bitcoins to a regular Fiat at any exchange and withdraw them through a regular ATM with a minimum Commission. I see the use of bitcoin ATMs only in order to increase the status of bitcoin itself and to increase their number. But it is certainly more profitable to use Fiat ATMs to cash out your crypt.

There’s a nice increase in the amount of ATMs since the OP on the 19th July. So in roughly 6 weeks there’s been roughly a 11% increase. Not bad, and I’m a firm believer that at the very least these ATMs act as advertising, increasing the exposure of Bitcoin.

we still need more ATMS
I do believe that as well but probably not right now. It's not the best idea right now knowing the current situations with the world. Cashless and less contact would be the ideal thing right now.

The problem with these ATM's is that they all are located in developed countries like the US or Europe. People in developing or third world countries need this service more than those in the already established economies. It would be great if this ATM company can start providing its service in those countries.
The reason for that is because the people who use it are there, not the other way around. It's not a great idea to put ATMs in less developed countries because it would be useless. Maybe as the adoption of crypto increases, then perhaps there would be more around the world.

This is a great news for the crypto market, this shows the unstable growth and adoption of Bitcoin. As those ATMs keep increasing in different countries so it's  legitimacy and greater value keeps spreading.

Sooner Bitcoin will become a globally accepted currency and alternative means for easy and safe payment transactions.
But some government are not concerned about bitcoin. There are a lot of country where bitcoin is not legal and for this reason people are not accepting it. If it spreads all over the world, people will be able to take benefit from ATM where bitcoin is connected.

It seems like the US-dominated the number of ATM, it means that there are many bitcoin users in the country of the US, well that is good for them because their government allowed their citizens to use bitcoin. Bitcoin becomes so prominent all over the world, there are so many people who are now using the bitcoin that is why we have also many ATM all over the world.

Bitcoin ATM's must have at least a big headquarters within those countries that those teller machines are available. That also means that if they are implemented widely, then the government approved the operation of Cryptocurrency related businesses which is a good sign for users that are knowledgeable about it. Lets just hope that its not gonna get raided or branded as scam in the long term

Thank you for this information mate it took its easier for the people to withdraw their funds without hassle because they have now a supporting ATM nearest to their countryside and hopefully there is a lot of countries right now will accept the use of it in the near future.

I thought there are a southeast Asia right there, still there no new because some of them does not have well known into the world of cryptocurrency because only a few people see the potential of this coin to make more earning which is a good thing but still I hope someone will prioritize this too and make an investment to create this kind of wonderful project so the people who use a cryptocurrency can take out their funds immediately on their nearest atm.

Why are the only threads on here regarding ATMs only ever about their geographical spread? We rarely read about anyone here actually using them.

Every now and then I consider having a play with one. Then I look up what's nearby and what they fleece me for. Then the idea is forgotten again.
You will have to find about that on the Internet. People use them regularly and that is why they are still available and growing. What I've discovered personally from my findings is that a lot of people that used them are newbie or people that quickly want to get bitcoin without exploring so many options. Many people here in the forum might not be talking about using it because they have many options of buying bitcoin without using ATM machine.

I think there is a possible part of the ATM is nearest to the business establishment because they are the one who really are in the world of business which is a good thing to do but still it takes a lot of time before it will spread for over the country.

Great to have many bitcoin atms aroud the world , but in fact you will find that this ATMS in thier majority are placed in the country of Europe and north america , and you will not find any ATM in some of Africa or Asia country witch is really bad and will slow the cryptocurrency mass adoption in ASIA and Africa and will only help the mass adoption in Europe and North Africa witch is not fair engouth and don't aim with the propuse of cryptocurrency witch is the freedoom of people
It is strictly business. You as a whole can venture into it and install bitcoin ATM in your community but the determining factors is the amount of people that knows what is it and how to use it. In Africa, there are still many countries that are not much into crypto while vast majority of the countries that the crypto is vastly growing have already started using it. When you check the link above, you will discover that African countries such as Nigeria, South Africa and Zimbabwe are having Bitcoin ATM machine installed in various locations

It´s somewhat of a weird distribution when you think about the acceptance rate and openness of Asian countries, they are nowhere to be seen on that pic. At least a tine country as Austria is prominently featured haha
If you consider the rate of adoption in Europes especially in banking sectors, you will understand why a country like Austria is having bitcoin ATM matching. This is pure business and no one will want to risk such business in countries that the government is not that open to the technology. Hopefully in the nearest future, when we have bitcoin machine producers in Asia, there will be more machine there also

The distribution of Bitcoin ATM seems to be localized to some part of the world. The thing I believe shaped that chart is the level of economic freedom around the world. The primary reason why my country doesn't have a Bitcoin ATM is everything here is illegal until it's legalized. And the lawmaker and the beurocracy doesn't approach anything unless it gives them immediate benefits.

Maximum number of cryptocurrency ATM installed in USA looks like the cryptocurrency growth widening in a particular region. There needs some even distribution all around the world. When such a scenario happens we can confirm the cryptocurrency market is growing. Until then it won't reach high global demand, and for the same governments around the world need to be supportive. This will take few years of time as the market moves weren't happening as predicted for the year.

What a great news. But there are still many disadvantages within bitcoin. The price is too volatile and it can not be chosen as the main currency yet. 8700 is a great number. I hope that this number will keep increasing so that we can witness a future full of cryptocurrencies. In my country, there are about less than 10 Bitcoin ATMs. It a small number, but still create a lot of attention to people around that places.  Cool

The increase in the demand of bitcoin requires creating more bitcoin atm. And I guess that a few years later, we will also have a cryptocurrency ATM which we can withdraw ethereum, XRP, Dash, etc

This signifies that there's a demand for bitcoin ATMs. While some exchanges and services are off in US but look at the demand and number of bitcoin ATMs that they have.
And due to the pandemic, those ATMs could expand more on different continents. Those who are interested in bitcoin and those who will use it as a means of transfer to avoid touching cash.

Thanks for the information mate, it seems like our community becomes so big, we are already many ATM all over the world and that is enough proof the bitcoin is very popular around the world. What more if all the countries will accept bitcoin in their land because as well all know there are still some countries which are not accepting the bitcoin to be used by their citizen because of some reason. Maybe their government is thinking that they couldn't put it a tax because cryptocurrency is decentralized.
This is somehow related to this thread Re: There Are Now More Than 8,000 Bitcoin ATM's Worldwide.

Having a bitcoin ATM is really nice because it will give convenience to all the bitcoin users around the world. Hoping that our country will also have this kind of ATM soon.
Great hunt, both threads are related, this is just a more specific or statistics about that mentioned thread because it has the numbers of ATM fo every country.

This is somehow related to this thread Re: There Are Now More Than 8,000 Bitcoin ATM's Worldwide.

Having a bitcoin ATM is really nice because it will give convenience to all the bitcoin users around the world. Hoping that our country will also have this kind of ATM soon.
