My bad.. I can't pass the 900 core clock, and can go to 450 on my memory.

Sorry for late reply.
I tried overclocking on cgminer, it still locks me at 900 engine. But I can underclock the core to 450.

You mean underclock the memory to 450? Core and engine are the same thing...

What crazyates said. cgminer and bfgminer have built-in clock setting that works fine with radeon 5000 series. If you don't want to screw around with that and prefer manually setting, try Sapphire trixx. It'll let you underclock RAM all the way to 10 MHz (or less?!). You just set the slider all the way to the left, hit apply, and the slider will shift to the right a little, letting you slide it further to the left.

Those 5870s don't like memory speeds in the 350-550 range. They start to fail. However, if you drop it straight down to 300, it works fine.

It sounds like you're using MSI AB? CGMiner works great with overlocking GPU, underclocking RAM, and even undervolting on those 5800 cards. Might want to give it a try.

I used to be able to get 935/450 on this card.. I installed the new update, and then reverted it back to the update I had before and now I can't pass the limit of 900/600. I have tried to enable unofficial overclocking, but that did not work.
Does anyone know a fix or why it is doing this?
Anything about it helps.
