you can't fight the fake news and you can not overcome it. our only option is to take advantage of the situation the best way we can.
for example in bitcoin whenever there is some FUD we should look to see if the FUD is one of the good (effective) ones or just the imagination of some kid thinking he can spread FUD. if it is the good ones then you can speculate about its effects and then act accordingly in the market.
short bitcoin, or simply sell and get ready to buy back at the bottom when FUD wears off. that is what whales are doing after all.

The world has changed and millions of people are living most of their lives on social media. Some people in my family spend almost 16 hours a day on their mobile phones. The people with their hidden agendas has added this to their tools to spread misinformation.

We see this in Bitcoin too, when paid shills from our competition, infiltrate all platforms to spread their FUD and misinformation. The only thing we can do is to spread the truth, to counter their FUD.

We need to check the sources first. If they're legit or not. And if the information they cited is correct. If you read an article with unknown source, you need to at least check if it's credible or not.

The article is penned by Fox Holt, Vice President of Delphy

Fake news was a term that had hardly crossed people’s minds until relatively recently. Yet the phrase has now passed the lips of almost every journalist and entered the dictionary as Collins’ word of the year.

Although not a new phenomenon, prompted by 2016’s Brexit referendum and media coverage of the US presidential election, fake news has re-entered the public consciousness. In doing so, it has raised questions about the legitimacy of some media organizations.

With increasing recognition amongst world leaders and tech giants that the problem of fake news has to be tackled, is there a viable solution?

I think the only viable solution towards fake news is knowledge. In this world and generation that we have where information can be gathered easily ignorance is a choice. So the answer to your question is that you just need to find credible source of news and unsubscribe to the not legit ones. We have the power to choose what type if information we would get. So practically we are the one responsible towards our lives and the news that we listen to.
