Thank you for posting this. Overstock doesn't get enough credit for how supportive they've been of crypto. It's important that there are real world ways to use coins to give them some value beyond just speculative enthusiasm.

Yes - and it's interesting that they're branching into alts. It seems to me that they think the fees on bitcoin are now so high, that people simply won't use it, and they are experimenting to see whether people will use alts instead.

Overstock has been very supportive of altcoins/bitcoin from the very beginning. They keep bringing good news. I was hoping Amazon would start accepting crypto by now, hopefully soon.

Overstock just became the first major retailer to accept bitcoin cash and altcoins at the point of sale for payment. They announced a partnership with Shapeshift.io to streamline the process. Now Overstock customers can transact via Shapeshift’s native API easily using Bitcoin Cash, Monero, Litecoin, Ethereum, and more.

Overstock’s press release provides instructions on how to use the service. The post read, “During checkout, customers will select their preferred cryptocurrency and submit the order before being prompted to transfer the coins, just as they would with any other digital wallet transaction. Overstock will then utilize ShapeShift to convert the cryptocurrencies to bitcoin.”

My advice is - use this service so that your preferred coin gains some real life activity. Chances are that if one or more coins are used more than bitcoin for purchases (to reduce fees), Overstock will publicise it.
