Guys do you have any tips and tricks for storing paper wallets?

Download the paper wallet script you want to use, run it on an offline PC. Print out paper wallet. Wipe PC before ever taking it online.

Also add
1. http://offlinebitcoins.com/
2. https://brainwallet.io/

I found these two works even without internet, so this might not be the scam. Roll Eyes

i used BitAddress.org once when i needed to create my paper wallet and everything was ok no one stole my coins when i had money in it and i did not have any problems i guess they provide really great services for people who want paper wallets

It was ~17 months AFTER I generated a cold address before one of them was compromised. If you're not doing it securely, just not having it compromised YET means nothing. Learn from my mistake.

Okay, seems you are right. Did not remove it, but made it clear that it is probably a scam service and has to be treated with caution.

@ironbit: Thanks for sharing. Added it to the list.

Paper wallets are basically your private keys printed on a paper, they can either be encrypted or non encrypted and if we go by this theory then any bitcoin wallet such as Core, Electrum, Multibit can be used to make paper wallets. The most important thing to understand is that a Paper wallet is suppose to be a cold storage, which means you make this wallet OFFLINE which makes it completely impossible for hackers to know your private keys.

Any bitcoin wallet that can produce a Key-Address pair and can work offline can make you a paper wallet.

I like the list but it's important that if you're generating a wallet, you do it OFFLINE to ensure it's not being sniffed.

If it's going to be a true cold paper wallet with good amount in it.  Do fresh install of OS do updates, virus/malware software, and use that computer.

Next use the dumbest printer you have.  A lot have all-in-ones with tons of cache and network etc.  If you have a old stupid usb printer use it.  No matter what look at how to clear your printers cache.   It's even more important on network printers with internet connections.

And I would then blow OS away do a few read/writes on drive and reinstall.  You now have a cold wallet with decent security depending on where it's stored.
