It would be nice to have a lightning network faucet giving some sats; I doubt that a marketing genius has implemented. I know they haven't, because it'd have ranked #1 in SEO. It'd also bring the users closer to it. It'd make them feel more familiar with LN by installing and using a lightning wallet which they'll sooner or later have to.

It's a good opportunity to take advantage of this greed; the transaction fees discourage the people to use them.

Someone already made that, apparently.

- CPM/CPC advertising networks:
You have some websites like Coinzilla, A-ads.com, Bitmedia, Cointraffic. You will have to choose from the CPC model to CPM. I would recommend choosing both. A CPC banner at the top of the page. A CPM banner at the bottom of the page... Always

This is going to be hard to pull off if you have less than 50K pageviews a month, since otherwise, you're not ranking high enough for the ad networks to be interested in accepting you. Well, except for A-ads, but I dislike that particular ad network because there are hardly any campaigns running on it, so the profits are extremely slim (since your site will be running empty banner ads most of the time).

It's been about 5 years since I last used a faucet indeed.

I still stayed in touch with that world, not so much for profit, but more as a habit from the past. As a regular user, you can hardly earn anything without having a very large number of referrals, but I also think that at least 90% of faucet owners are mostly kids who give up very quickly, while less than 5% of owners have very serious concepts with tens of thousands of active users, and decent earnings.

I knew the former, the latter is new to me.

EC was created after FaucetHub stopped working, and if you register there you can see that it is a very active community with about 2000 members online during the busiest hours.

It's really weird for me that someone claims something about faucets without being aware of how that part of the crypto world works - the problem of fees and dust transactions is a thing of the past for at least 5-6 years.

Most faucets have disappeared, which is a pretty good sign indicator they're not worth it to the owner.
Why is that a good sign?
Sorry, lost in translation. I meant "indicator".

Why is that a good sign? What is wrong with the faucet business? As far as I know, it is a completely legal type of business, with micro wallets services, the possibility of fraud by faucet owner is reduced to a minimum. (does not mean that it does not exist, after all, as in any business)
if we talk about wasting time, it is certainly not a good argument, because someone charges their time differently or maybe doesn’t have the option for more.
I still argue that they are a great way for newbies to get acquainted with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and how it works. Wallets, addresses, transactions etc...

There's no point in on-chain Bitcoin faucets anymore, it's just not worth the fee and you don't help Newbies with dust.

It's really weird for me that someone claims something about faucets without being aware of how that part of the crypto world works - the problem of fees and dust transactions is a thing of the past for at least 5-6 years. If you’re not familiar with the concept of micro wallets like FaucetPay or ExpressCrypto, you shouldn’t argue that there are problems where there are none at all.

Most faucets have disappeared, which is a pretty good sign they're not worth it to the owner.

Again, you claim something without facts, here's an example from just one micro wallet (EC). In addition, the number of faucets on a competing platform is roughly similar - it is still much more than what you claim.

It would be nice to have a lightning network faucet giving some sats
I found a new one last week: Lightning Network Stores now has a faucet. It runs on donations.
Quote from: About this faucet
This faucet is meant to introduce new users to the bitcoin lightning network
~
We have had a few abusers. Don't try to abuse this faucet by trying to get money every day, use proxies or other tricks. Our anti-abuse measures are good and you will waste a lot of time. If you manage to temporarily fool us, you will mostly harm other users, who will get less satoshis, especially the ones in your area/network. In extreme cases, we may even limit the faucet in your country temporarily.

I'd like to see more LN-faucets, especially with instant withdrawals. There's no point in on-chain Bitcoin faucets anymore, it's just not worth the fee and you don't help Newbies with dust.

not your keys, not your coins!
With regards to fees, I guess the mempool is very low these days and they are batched as mentioned before.
But a possibility is also to pay out via Lightning, like the one from FixedFloat: https://fixedfloat.com/en/lightning-faucet

they still use traditional faucets - which also have instant payouts on micro wallets - they are actually off-chain payouts.
They probably use some sort of database to keep track of each user's payout total, but the transaction has to be on-chain once a user wants to withdraw their earnings.

You failed to read my previous post, big fees, and dust transactions are long gone, obviously, you have never used or are familiar with platforms like FaucetBox or FaucetHub that were popular a few years ago and have been replaced by some other platforms today. When we talk about BTC withdraws, the fee is usually around a few hundred satoshi for a regular withdraw.
Well, I had used a faucet around a year ago, I reached 1100 sats (by viewing ads) and wanted to withdraw them. It redirected me to a faucet something dot com where they all kept the payout totals. It required from you to have received at least 1000 sats.

If they implemented lightning payments, they could send those 2-digit amount of sats instantly to my wallet each time I viewed an ad, without having to worry for withdrawal limits such as 1000 sats.

There were several such faucets, some of which are listed in this thread but people who use faucets are still mostly beginners and have very limited knowledge of LN technology, so they still use traditional faucets - which also have instant payouts on micro wallets - they are actually off-chain payouts.

Block halving is coming.
If it's a captcha service where you can able to do a task for solving captcha there are some that I know still operating.

Check these 3 captcha service

- CaptchaTypers
- 2captcha
- qlinkgroup

They have a Bitcoin withdrawal option.

Or maybe you are looking for a captcha adnetwork?
I can't seem to find them right now if this is what you looking for but I think you can add a banner with some known crypto ad network mention above just make a popup script with a v2 captcha including the banner of any advertising network that mention above.

If I understand correctly you are looking to open your own faucet. Are you concerned about people trying to use captcha solving services to abuse your faucet? Most captcha solving services pay a couple of cents each time a captcha is solved but it would probably not be worth someone to pay for one of these services to abuse captchas because they only pay a couple of sats each time. They would probably be paying more for the captcha solving services than what they would earn or they would earn very little making it worthless to try.

https://prowebscraper.com/blog/top-10-captcha-solving-services-compared/

Says that the leading captcha solving service "death by captcha" costs $1.39 per 1000 captcha. They have a 90% success rate meaning it would probably be 1.39 dollars per 900 captcha. What are you planning on paying at your faucet? Most faucets are giving 0.0000001 which if you multiply by 900 you would get 0.00009 which atm is $4. The person using a captcha service would only earn 3 $2-$3. I doubt any one would be willing to put that expense and effort in to get 2 dollars profit because they would need to setup a automated script and run a computer which would use more electricity than they would earn.

As for the monetization of faucets, it mainly comes from short links services used by mostly all faucets and some ad networks that are still active. Without research and good preparation, any attempt to keep a faucet alive for more than a month will end in failure - whether the owner fails to earn enough or fails to defend himself against hackers who use sophisticated bots to steal what can be stolen.

in addition to this, I would add a faucet referral system as another possibility of monetizing the faucet. Sharing referral links from other faucet websites on your own faucet page can bring some extra profit. that profit sometimes remains even if the faucet stops working.
in the end, it is logical, because such sites are visited by visitors who are interested in such a way of earning money.

With the current fees and more tax restrictions, I don't think the faucets will be as attractive as they were in the past and given the fluctuating value of Bitcoin so intense it's best to think of other creative ways.

Rare faucets today use direct payouts, and those who still do have a high threshold (freebitco 30 000 satoshi), while most use services like FaucetPay (micro wallets) where users accumulate their coins and then send them to their wallets.

@hugeblack

Most of the owners don't report anything or pay any tax. They just run their website in their bedroom or on the sofa. It's so easy to set up and needs minimal maintenance that even teenagers used to create faucets 6 or 7 years ago.
After Google Adsense banned the faucets from its network, it started to be a lot less profitable. A lot of them claused after this period.

The current fees, I suppose you're talking about the TXs, are minimal since the payments are usually sent in batches.

@d-angel2001

Usually, the faucets are monetized in 2 or3 ways.

Always

- Captcha services:
There are just a few, but can't remember any name. The problem is people abuse the system with bots to solve the captcha. So the webmaster decided to use a stronger one, (often from google, like bitcointalk), even if they make less money.
If you make $200 from the captcha service but lose $400 on the payout to cheaters with bots, then there is no use.

- Affiliation:
The traffic converts less than a blog, but every buck is good to take. Some display a banner with an affiliate link to whatever you want (a VPN, casino,...)

Now, to be honest, this niche is dead since Adsense excluded faucets. It will take you a very long time to start to see any profit. You will be just happy if it covers your server costs and other extra things

In general, if you are adamant with faucet, it must support the Lightning network and I recommend a few things:

 - Writing articles or games to get SATs.
 - Rewards or gifts for users in the form of digital tokens that have a value in Bitcoin.
 - A store for buying and selling digital things.
 - Watching advertisements and the possibility of getting a job.

Hello there,

I'm thinking about own faucet and think about how to best monetize it? Any tips?

Are there any good ...
  • Captcha services paying rewards?
  • Captcha-Solving services paying for letting users on own website do the work of solving a foreign captcha?
  • Advertising paying in crypto?
Thanks for helping.
