I just finished a new rig. The same gpu with hynix memory. This time I xan get only 21.5 mhs. poor performance

My test with the same MSI GPU P106-100 but with Samsung Memory.

The first quick test with 2 GPUs, window 10 ver.1703, test's duration: 16hrs:
Power Limit: 65%, Core: +0, Mem: +950, average hashrate: 25.2Mh/s.

The second test with 8GPUs, window 10 ver. 1703, test's duration: up to now 6 days:
Power Limit: 65%, Core: +46, Mem: +740, average hashrate: 25.05Mh/s.

4600 is memory clock, 4200 for new cards. I have checked the memory and have samsung for old cards and hynux for new cards.
22 MH/s is actually pretty good for Hynix memory chips, it could've been worse (the only 1060 with Hynix ram that I've got barely did 20 MH/s).

I have tested 1060 nvidia and got 20mhs. P106 is much better but 22 instead of 24 ia a difference...

Hi guys,
N have a couple of rigs with p106 gpus that are working fine at 4650 core and making 25 MHs each gpu. I have bought new gpus, the same model, MSI p106 and new risers v008 and can't keep the rig stable for more than 4200 core, this is making 22 MHs each gpu. I am running ethos as operating system.
Does someone have this issue also?
What is 4650 core and 4200 core? Are you talking about the memory clocks? If that's memory clocks, then your old cards have Samsung memory, and your new cards have Micron memory. Samsung overclocks better and have tighter timings.

It seems to be a memory problem here. Micron and hynix are workink lower than samsung. You need to check what memory is into new cards.

Card usually become more unstable the more you have of them in the rig. Just back off on the overclock and it should be ok.

ETH OS overclocks differently as compared to Window's msi afterburner. But i've found my P106s are also unstable when i push them to 25 MH (mining ETH). So to keep them stable i've settled with 23 MH.

Here are my afterburner settings for the p106 (samsung memory):
Power: 60%
Coreclock: +0
Memclock: +600

Just adjust accordingly to see how these clock settings would look like in ETH OS.

of those cards are like the Msi  armor cards. They won't clock as well as Msi gamer  cards

I have tried to mine with older risers v006 that works fine for other msi or asus gpu. I didn't check the memory from this msi card but it is different lot ...

Have you tried connecting without risers one card at a time in the rig? v008 might not be the most stable.

yes, you know that all chips are different
maybe the second card has other power limits and that is why it can not overclock so far
or maybe we talking aobut memory here - then it is means that one card have fast Samsung memory, while other slow Micron

Sometimes same model come with different manufacturer of RAM, it might affected the OC, please check if they are same?

My Asus P106-100 rigs with -120 core, +550 mem, quite stable at 25.2Mh/s. But when I tested in Simplemining OS with 15 GPUs rig, it's not stable at the same setting while could hash only 20.9Mh/s.
