Has anyone had to replace a fan in the Pandaminer yet? I'm trying to find replacement parts but am not having any luck.

Hey guys I put together a review video on my Pandaminer B3+
https://youtu.be/sefJNg8Bv5I

I saw some promising reviews and specs on the pandaminer gpu eth zec xmr mining rig, so I began my quest to attain one. .  They were flying through their pre-orders in seconds / minutes selling 1000+ panda miners . .  it was tough to acquire. I reached out to the Virginia Pandaminer Distributor and he was able to get me a panda miner however at the BTC price he wanted, I ended up paying about $3000 dollars for a Pandaminer B3+ at the end of May.

Long story short some of these pandaminers are catching fire, going up in flames is ridiculous because their production was rushed and just cheap. You can read more about the latest panda miner fire here
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/caution-pandaminers-catching-fire-1946017

My pandaminer worked for about a week before at this point my understanding is that windows updated and now does not recognize the GPU

SMOS did not work for me and tytanick states he does not support pandaminers

pandamOS by eliovp is promising however his current version did not work for me, he will begin working on a fix this weekend

List goes on, watch the videos for full details, I do not recommend this miner.

I'll update later as I'm determined to make this thing work, any input on getting it running correctly would be more than welcome.

Update
Here is my second pandaminer . . I am also experiencing issues with this b3+

thanks for the review dude. I was looking at a pandaminer, because I wanted something "turn-key" and didn't want to futz with building/configuring a mining rig, but since they were sold out and wouldn't get here probably in another month, I got my 5x 1080 ti cards in, but then when I went to turn on my old motherboard/CPU I had from doing some Litecoin mining (back in early 2014 I believe) the bios wouldn't post....so I just spent another 300 bucks on motherboard, CPU, and ram.

Absolutely brother! I think you definitely made the right choice good luck on your mining! How's your rig turned out now?

How is ethOS working out for you?

anyone get their panda problems solver by using eliosvp's solutions?

eliovp is the only hope for those freaking panda miners lol, he has customer support, panda should hire him.

I haven't made an update video on my latest stuff but basically that one ended up working properly on a proper PSU w/ PandamOS

Nice, I feel you're pain.  Bought 20 of them and have had a few issues with flaky GPU's and their pirate Chinese Windows 10.  Replaced Windows 10 with EthOS which fixed the OS issue.

Next up is to replace the PSU's with 2400W Parallel Miner kits that I bought (http://www.parallelminer.com/product/2400-watt-power-supply-kit-for-gpu-mining-94-efficiency-200-240v-ethereum-eth-zec-dash/).  Each 2400W PSU has a 16 x 8-pin PCIe power outlet breakout board meaning you'll be able to power 2 x Pandaminers off each one once you under-volt and optimise the GPU BIOS and core clock-speed.

Wire 250v ends up as 240v, PSU adjusts but definitely upgrade your PSU from panda oem POS

Yes. Just edit the .txt file on a windows machine with your email. Once it boots it will send you a link to the control panel of smOS and from there you can put in your wallet address etc.

This Windows update break driver thing happened to me too.  I talked to their tech support.  Found the solution:
Just go to Device Manager, manually "update drivers" that is placed in the C:\01\01 folder.  Then run the patcher.exe in the same folder.  Then disable all windows update (Google this).  And it'll work.

Also, smOS does work yes (I used the RX image on USB), just that it's not very stable, it reboots every hour or so.  So I'm back to Windows.

Also, if you use the new version of Claymore 9.x, you need to set -dcri 6 to get ~230MH/s, otherwise, it defaults to -dcri 30, and you get only 215  MH/s.

But all in all, I agree with you, it's not a good product.  I bought a few of them, I still have issues at this moment.  Like 1 card is stuck at 8MH/s, and 1 fan is not spinning, and 1 miner only sees 4 out of 8 cards after a week of running fine with 8, probably broken motherboard.

I'm working with their tech support, so far they've been responsive and running tests, but I don't know how easy it would be to replace the faulty motherboard (in my opinion).

You were right about Smos. I've had it running on my Pandas for a week and no issues except for the occasional restart. Is it the rig restarting or the mining software? These are remote machines so I'm not sure.

Also thanks for the tip about dcri....will try that on a later version of claymore. Currently I am using 8.1 with stock clocks and they hum along at 222mh.

I am going to give SMOS a try. I have it flashed on an msata. Do you just plug it and and it will work for pandaminers?

The oem psu is bad.

what's wrong with the OEM psu?

it has 5 pcie cables that come from the unit.  they split into 7 cables.

and the unit has 8 gpus.

try and run  8 gpus with 5 cables = overload and melt downs.

no one should use the psu for the panda miner it should be used on a low load item  800 watts max that would be 160 watts for each of the 5 cables that may be okay

The PSU they sent with batch 4 are different than the early ones.  They now have 9 separate legs from the PSU, and ten 6-pin connectors.  So only 1 leg has a Y-split, and you don't even need to use it since the Panda only needs 7 connections.

Just received my pandaminers. Your word holds a ton of weight given what you do for the community, so I'm not even going to attempt using the PSU's they included with the machines. Would you recommend the PSU solution that @kjs recommended right above?

Thanks, I actually just ditched the crappy pirated Windows 10 they supply with the units and installed EthOS instead.

Pandaminer GPU's now crash when I go to mine. all cards recognized at least one will crash, always gpu4 then claymore goes to reboot and freezes

Tried mining ZEC instead of one card crashing, 3 crashed Cheesy / same freezing result

This sounds like my rig when i had a power issue.  Add another PSU to the mix and see if you're just running out of juice.

swapped panda shitbox psu for my other panda shitbox psu and now all cards are working, still way under where I'm supposed to be but .. you were absolutely right

Invest in some server PSUs with breakouts.  Deepinthemines has some on his shop and ebay.

I've got HP PSUs that have been running at 90% for 3 years now.  I upgrade the miners and keep using them.

As far as the driver issues you are having, you might see if the OS has a rollback feature enabled.  Disconnect it from the internet so it doesn't update when it boots.  You can take it back to a time when the drivers were working.

Also, whenever installing drivers: uninstall, restart, install, restart.

Don't they have like a 6 month warranty for those things?
I guess the miner catching on fire whould be covered by that  Cheesy
Yeah w/ you covering shipping and I'm a second hand owner of both so I imagine they may use that to shrug off support even though one was purchased directly from their distributor

Here's my latest issues with my second pandaminer
https://youtu.be/PIwmfx8KjqY

Note its a different version dagarair reports it as a gen 1 b3+ whereas my other panda is a gen 2 b3+ I'm assuming -- its a newer version
This psu has more splitters than needed . .
Much quieter and lower tone, still a very loud miner but nothing in comparison to the "gen 2 pandaminer"

only getting 6x gpu recognized

Hi VoskCoin,

Appreciate your reviews and have re-tweeted your YouTube videos, keep up the good work Smiley

I have just received 20 of these PoS, 19 of which are running now, 1 of which is DoA.

Do you know how to get them out of 'Chinese Windows 10' mode into English?

So I have one pandaminer, the grey one

Main issue -- I have 7 cards running on it, however gpu 4 always crashes... how can I fix this?

Running on 240v I don't understand how you'd wire 220v here it's measured 248 or 246 with a meter

My research says oem panda PSU is rated up to 240v so that all falls in line with normal things

People are running oem panda PSU on 240v?

I don't have asm or dcri enabled still crashing

When I begin mining there is an audible drop in the tone / maybe speed of the fans ?

Dam...I didn't know smOS doesn't work with the B3. I already sent drives pre-loaded to the hosting company.
Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully Eliovp will come to the rescue.
I refuse to use windows!
What batch are your pandas from? Agreed, I feel Eliovp is the only one who can save these damn pandas lol
Hope yours workout better than mine has thus far!

Mine are from March batch (B3) . Took forever to get delivered and now hosting company sitting on them for weeks. Trying not to lose my shit.

Valuable lessons learned:

Never pre-order (time is money!!)
Never rely on others. Build and manage your own rigs.

If I sat on my 12k BTC instead of buying the Pandas I would have more than doubled my $$$

put your finger on the cards after about 20 min.  You will know what 2 cards are not running.  Pull them and swap positions with working cards and see if the problem follows the card.  If it does you have 2 dead cards.

open and replug them all in.  Some do get loose in shipping.  That being said you have a gen 1 panda b3 like mine.  the new ones are 5 fans front and 4 back.  You will have heat problems if you live in a hot environment.

the B1 has issues in heat and it will fry the PSU.  I swapped only B1 PSU for a different PS and there are no problems

If you fried your B3 its because of that shitty power inverter you have.  I have not had issues at all with them.

Not saying they are great, but they are ok.
The pandaminer distributor sold the transformer to me with the panda, for the record. How would I have fried it and if so how does a fried rig operate?

That's why i said IF YOUR fried it.  You have a picture of a fried board on your first post.  These "distributors" are idiots btw.  Don't take anything they tell you as the truth hehe.
I took his advice with a grain of salt but it appears he only became a distributor to fill his mining farm in china with well over 100 pandaminers

Pandaminer problem #27

Received a different pandaminer model today b3+ as well? It's only recognizing 6 gpu's . . . out of the box

I have the same problem as well, managed to contact pandaminer for assistance and they were quick to help me diagnose the problem. Turns out one of my GPU is faulty. I sent back the GPU to them and hoping to get a new replacement soon..

Did you have to reload drivers on your panda?

Can you explain step by step so I may see if I missed something, but it's either telling me they're up to date or already patched

Device status is
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems Code 43

Do I need to revert the windows version first? With all this headache I should have just built a rig for less! Lol

The only installed update on the uninstall an updated list was security update for adobe flash player

did you update the windows? try to use DDU to uninstall gpu driver. then install driver rx470 from philipma. not sure this work or not..

I didn't and it's set to not update so I'm not sure?

Device status is
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems Code 43

Do I need to revert the windows version first? With all this headache I should have just built a rig for less! Lol

The only installed update on the uninstall an updated list was security update for adobe flash player

did you update the windows? try to use DDU to uninstall gpu driver. then install driver rx470 from philipma. not sure this work or not..

the B1 has issues in heat and it will fry the PSU.  I swapped only B1 PSU for a different PS and there are no problems

If you fried your B3 its because of that shitty power inverter you have.  I have not had issues at all with them.

Not saying they are great, but they are ok.

I was thinking about getting one of these. Now I'm not so sure anymore...

Do you think they have fixed the problems in the newest batch ?

Dam...I didn't know smOS doesn't work with the B3. I already sent drives pre-loaded to the hosting company.
Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully Eliovp will come to the rescue.
I refuse to use windows!
What batch are your pandas from? Agreed, I feel Eliovp is the only one who can save these damn pandas lol
Hope yours workout better than mine has thus far!

Was this on B1 or b3+?,  glad they're working better with you I am still awaiting a response to my second email . . .

How can they advertise it as 237 mh/s and we are getting 215 mh/s . . it's a lie basically at that point?

Appreciate the input i'll give it a shot today, keep us posted on yours!
