To illustrate this point.

I ordered 1x s17 and 1 x s17 pro  cost was 4900  about oct 11 plus 1200 trump tax

less then 2 weeks later  my partners ordered 2 s17 pros for 4200 built nd shipped from malaysia  add 80 import tax.   so 4280  vs 6100

less then 2 week later same s17 pros are 1566 so 2 are 3132 plus 80 import tax malaysia builds  cost is 3211

so
6100
4280
3211

from oct 11 to Nov 21  same 2 units.  Bitmain last did this  in spring of 2018  dropping the s9's and killing  the price for everyone.

End result  we had a diff and price collapse    from oct 2018 to feb 2019.

Looks like the same problem is going to happen.

How does this relate to the pandaminer for sale here?  very simple  it has made the pandaminer a terrible buy.

This actually is overall bad news , Bitmain keeps winning every mining competition, nobody can beat them so far, this is pretty bad for the mining industry as a whole to say the least.
To be fair though no one else really seems to have the gear to try and compete right now; I guess stock is a better word. I think Bitmain is just trying to move as much gear as possible so they don't get stuck so to speak. Gear will be increasingly less valuable over the next couple of months, so holding onto more of it isn't a great plan. Lowering the USD equivalent doesn't really matter as they get most of their payment in BTC and are obviously hedging on the price increasing in the future

The P3 will fall by the wayside quickly as I can't be sure any units ever went out. I've looked for videos or more than a single random line review claiming they've seen one and nothing. I did reach out to them as well a while ago but never heard back. If it does hit the market they need to drop price just to compete.

six weeks still not too bad a deal.

20 days passed since this comment, it's crazy how things can change in a very short period of time as far as BTC mining is concerned, what seemed like "not too bad a deal" is now beyond a terrible one.

Model                price        delivery          efficiency
PandaMiner       1350$       4-5weeks       58watts/th
ANtminer T17    977  $       7-10 days      55watts/th

To be more accurate, you get 2TH more on pandaminer, but you pay  373$ more , wait a lot longer and get less efficiency.

Nice price they sent an email to me.
I think watts are 58 so 58 x 44 is about 2530

The 50 th s17 pro does 36 watts and 43 th on low 1548

So same hash and save 720 kwatts a month  so 5 cent power it saves 36 dollars it costs 850 more so that is around 23 months before the s17pro catches up to this gear

How long before it ships a month or two

I noticed in a telegram chat room that PandaMiner is releasing their first BTC miner.

It is called PandaMiner P3 and they say it is 44 Th/s and 3000 Watts. It comes with an integrated psu. It costs 1350 USD.

It's great to see some more competition in the market.
I would be careful with this thought, AFAIK they have had some issues with their Eth miners.

Any thoughts about this?
