@Eliovp can you provide a copy of the bios on those GPUs I see they use Hynix memory and I am interested on the timing on those.

Yeah he'll provide a copy once you buy it.  lol

Some more results.

So XMR still at 4amps (880watt) after 15hrs.

Picture:

Also did a quick testrun on ethereum using the latest available Claymore miner (bad comparison vs Windows as the latest release there is newer and faster, i tested this and it is faster..)
I will test with genoil's as well later today.
236Mh while consuming 5.3A (1166watt) most consumption i've seen as of now..

Picture:

Did a testrun for zcash as well.
1730H while consuming 4.9A (1078watt)

Picture:

Then i did some minor modifcations (rom wise)  Cool
Improved hashrate and same consumption.
So still 4A (880 watt) but this time hitting 6400h  Wink

Picture:

Again, overall, i must say, awesome machine.

This could be seriously interesting for bigger farms.
I made it so that i just plug in the power, it boots and starts mining.
Other algo, no problem. Switch and go.

Greetings!

Hi there. Thank you so much for your posts, that's very good info. may I ask, how is working the system so far? It's been a couple of months since you got it right?

Basically let me know what do you think, is very stable? is worth for buying?
Besides XMR / ETH/ ZAC, is there any other cripto you've been able to mine as well?

Thanks in advance for your info!

Running like a champ.  I have a few pandas and run XMR.  I am about 6400 (800 a card ish) and sub 900 watts.  I also had him write me one for my RX 6 card rigs and I am getting 4.5K on 640 watts!

Hm seems like fans are not controlable ? Anyone mastered changing fanspeed on this panda ?

Nope, they're directly connected to the mainboard.

I'm working on a sollution for this as i don't need them to run at 100% Smiley

Not going to hurt anything if they do, and helps keep things cooler for better longevity.

Now, if they were the GHE screamers I could see wanting to slow them down!

Have you checked to see if they even have speed control at all (4 wire interface)?
A lot of Deltas are 3-wire "tach output no PWM speed control capability only".

I vaguely recall Phil or someone else mentioning they were 3 pin wire fans, thus no speed control.

Let me look at photos I,took.

3 pin direct to power board two jacks on the power input.  The fans appear to daisy chain four push five pull.

I'm pretty sure Claymore isn't going to release anything for linux anymore. Perhaps he will, but i don't think so..

I'm running claymore's v9.3 ZEC miner on linux (ethOS), but can't speak for any of his other miners running on linux. I probably should upgrade since v9.3 is out. I probably should to do a comparo between the latest from optiminer and claymore.

Edit: I just upgraded to claymore v9.3 and will check to see what flypool reports as my 24hour hash rate. Currently it reports 141.4 H/s.

upgrade from 9.2 to 9.3 produced a yawn. rate is the same at the pool after almost 24 hours.

It appears that they changed fans somewhere between the prototype (that used 7x or 8x Delta 60mm screamers - that ARE very good reliability) to 5x of some sort of an 80mm fan?

I've not seen any pictures that actually showed the actual fans on a production unit though.

delta 80 mm  they are loud but not nasty pitch  they use  .8 amps at 12 volt  that is about 10 watts a fan

Sounds like one of their mid-range 80mm then - Delta makes a VERY WIDE range of fans - dozens in JUST 80mm alone, and I think a few hundred or so different models in total.

Linux + modded roms make this rig ALOT more interesting & attractive

BUT

i still cringe @ the 6 months warranty, if you don't pay for electricity you can ROI it just @ the end of the warranty, but if you do pay for it, it's gonna be longer. (ok some could argue after 6 months usually computer parts, especially if they ran for 6 months 24/7 shouldn't fail) but it still make me reluctant to try my luck....

Keep up the good work man anyway Wink

Yeah, it does and thx Smiley

Anyhow, they have a good decent product, the only thing they lack is marketing and a decent after sales policy..

Super!!!

If this Pandaminer hits this high of H/s with 4 to 6 Amps.... and those temperature readings are fantastic for a high end rig.

I can only imagine what alien technology heatsinks are used by Panda.

I think its a very big milestone for GPU farm in terms of hash/power/footprint/serviceability.

What settings sgminer-gm? rawintesity 512 -w 4 -g 2 ?

Cant wait for my Panda arriving tomorrow morning.

Lego it is! Wink

Some more modifications (again rom wise)

Almost 800h per card Cheesy (not giving up!)

possible replacement

https://www.amazon.com/Bgears-Performance-Black-b-PWM-2Ball/dp/B00UTIB994/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?

also delta makes  a slower fan

if this can run in a 96f garage  doing 237mh for eth

commonsense means lower ambient  temp would allow for lower fan speed.

I will buy a few fans use them as push.

the unit uses 9 fans

push pull over the  gpus  and push over the cpu.

WOW - I knew you will mod these 480M sooner or later!

What sorcery .... 6200h sgminer-gm XMR at 880 watt ~ 4amps !!!

And those temps -- are you for real? Amazing!

I can probably do better though..

Ha, yeah, have to admit, the panda is in a warehouse where it's around 5-10 degrees at this moment.

They're still low though, when running stock it was an average of 44 degrees, highest temp is now at 40 and lowest 31 Smiley.

Will post updates as soon as i can. Busy busy..

my panda is in a 95f garage  running  the oem windows 10  .

I updated to the latest   eth miner  from claymore for windows and I am getting  237mh  at 1125-1150  watts

From the pictures - looks like the fans are also good quality.

And Philip said that they don't scream like the ones in Antminers.

Well the most important thing here is that undervolting is possible and temp reporting and controls are also working in Linux.

Claymore says he is prioritizing his XMR v10 miners so I hope much improvement for RX GPU support. Hope he release Linux build for v10.

The fans seem to be indeed of decent quality. This has to be seen in the longer run.

Temp reporting isn't really correct as it has no effect. The fans of the pandaminer are directly connected to the main board.

I'm pretty sure Claymore isn't going to release anything for linux anymore. Perhaps he will, but i don't think so..

Thank you for sharing your experience with Linux on Pandaminer.

So you'll have to change bios settings for both of them to work.

How do you get into the BIOS?

No, linux is not a straightforward install. There are several reasons for this and you'll see when you try Smiley

Please elaborate. What difficulties did you encounter?

If you have a company, are from europa and own a vat number, it'll be an intra-community delivery. In other words, no tax.

Greetings
I am from europe and i have VAT. Can you tell me price and where to buy one please ? Thank you.

Send me a pm.

Can you please elaborate on this? What settings? In BIOS/CMOS?
Is the 2nd HDMI connector connected to the onboard system or to one of the GPU?

Is the M.2 SSD slot limited to 42mm?

Can you confirm that there's 2 RAM slots?

Is Linux a straightforward install or is there anything we need to watch out for?

I just ordered 1 PandaMiner, had I seen your thread earlier I would have ordered more to save on shipping.  Cheesy

I'll try to put esxi on and enable GPU passthrough so I have the flexibility of switching OS quickly.

Of course.

Bios settings are a big factor yes.
Both HDMI jacks are connected to the mainboard, the mainboard is some sort of a pci switch.
So you'll have to change bios settings for both of them to work.

what was wrong with the HDMI ports?
Settings were all messed up Smiley
Can you please elaborate on this? What settings? In BIOS/CMOS?
Is the 2nd HDMI connector connected to the onboard system or to one of the GPU?

Is the M.2 SSD slot limited to 42mm?

Can you confirm that there's 2 RAM slots?

Is Linux a straightforward install or is there anything we need to watch out for?

I just ordered 1 PandaMiner, had I seen your thread earlier I would have ordered more to save on shipping.  Cheesy

I'll try to put esxi on and enable GPU passthrough so I have the flexibility of switching OS quickly.

whats the boot up key to access BIOS?

DEL?
F12?

if you are in Europe - how much they write on invoice? (because high VAT...)

If you have a company, are from europa and own a vat number, it'll be an intra-community delivery. In other words, no tax.

Greetings
I am from europe and i have VAT. Can you tell me price and where to buy one please ? Thank you.

Great that you have got the Linux up and running.

Can you run some test on XMR mining with sgminer-gm and wolf XMR miner?

Claymore should be updating his Cryptonight miner soon, hope he will have Linux version by then.

Surprised that you haven't started modding the 480M yet.... maybe a 480MlowenergyOK.rom ?  Grin

Thanks - great job!

100% that standard roms will not work with mobile ones. And in case of firing cards - the restoration will be way too complicated

but op is the man  as a working linux is gold  and he can lower fan speeds as the fans can do 70%  (a guess by me).

he mentions he can lower fan speed  and that his gpus are only 40c.

this machine will be even better then hoped for. if fans run at 60% and temps are 55c for the gpus.

Cheers!

I need a copy of that software  Grin

My windows build does not show temps or fan speeds.  his linux does

at op  I am doing around 1730h and 1062 watts  with an evga 1600 g2 psu.  and around  1200 watt with their stock gpu.

how much watts are you using for your 1696h?

The fans are full speed   and may be able to drop to 70%  which would really be good.

The unit has 9 fans at 10 watts each.  That comes to 90 watts since fans are full speed.

Lowering of the fans could save 30 watts.
I have no idea about the consumption right now. I will have more detailed info tomorrow.
Yes they are set at 100%, i can lower them though.. Temperature of the gpu's is around 40 degrees average at this moment.

greetings!

Hey guys!

As i've mentioned earlier, i also ordered a pandaminer.

It arrived today! Yey.

I took the time to boot the original ssd into that awesome Chinese Windows 10 and it took me around 10 minutes to turn it off again and to replace that ssd with a new one.

Of course i played around with it and installed linux on it Smiley (ps. i also fixed both the hdmi outputs, both are working fine now)

Here are some pictures.

Will post power / speed results later. Will also fetch that rom and modify the hell out of it.. "later.. :p"

If this runs smooth for more than 2 days, i will consider making this commercial, i mean: the pandaminer modified with modified roms. (only europe "for now")..

Pictures: (i'm just posting the links because i hate the fact that pictures will make me have to scroll like a madman to get to the bottom of the page..)

They box :p

Messed around with it and running on linux Smiley

More info coming later!
