You're being disingenuous. 5,000 out of how many millions? What tiny fraction of a percent?

Certainly some small minority of people who have received the vaccine can transmit the virus. Obviously, most of which will be during the short window between receiving the vaccine and it taking full effect. And obviously, almost all amongst people who have had only one dose of a two dose programme. Because this is not a secret, it's known and publicised by governments and the vaccine companies.

And even then, with a full two doses and a window for them to take effect, vaccines are not 100% effective for everybody... but they are a hell of a lot closer to 100% than doing nothing, which is 0% protective.

If people can get Covid after being vaccinated, they can spread the virus as well.

This is only true if vaccines are available instantly to everyone - which obviously they're not.
In practice, there are many people who want to receive a vaccine, but have not been offered one yet. These people are currently unprotected, and are at risk of contracting the virus from anti-vaxxers passing it on.
The purpose of vaccination is not solely to protect the individual. Personal choices have a wider impact.

Herd immunity is difficult to achieve. I tried to maintain immunity from the herd mentality, but they keep trying to force their stupidity onto me. They don't seem to realise that if vaccines really worked, then it wouldn't matter what I did. It just seems they are jealous of the fact that I am healthy and they aren't, and this is despite the fact that I avoid all pharmaceuticals. If vaccines really worked, then it wouldn't matter if I have not been vaccinated. They should be pleased that I don't place any demands on the NHS, and leave beds free for their stomach bands, and self-induced heart problems.

Wack, seems to be not true. I looked at the todays statistics by country with good records of vaccination, Israel - zero cases , U.S. - three times less cases  compared with numbers shown  three months ago. This convinces  me that vaccines work as it should be. Variants are not too much different, all of them contain s-protein - the basic marker for vaccines to build body barrier  against them.

there's no way we can go back to the beginning of 2020, and watched what would have happened if NOBODY - not the media, not the government, not the medical - had ever raised a word about Covid at all. "Doing nothing" might have been way better...

Vaccines are designed to handle, usually, only one variant. We'd have to have thousands of vaccines to handle all the variants.

Unfortunately God was busy trying to fix his computer when big pharma created Covid. He was trying to read the weather forecasts so that he knew when to make it rain. He still hasn't done it, so the met office is still giving us the wrong info. Fortunately he gave us an immune system that is capable of generating protection against all these variants of the 1930s Corona Virus. 90 years of honing and testing has created a pretty good system. Of course, big pharma can't make money out of healthy people, so they pay the governments to reduce the effectiveness of this immunity. I am amazed when I see the reports of the success they are having, and the stupidity of people who reduce their life spans, and health, by buying poisonous pharma products.

Just when you thought it was safe to venture outside again…Newsweek magazine has unleashed a hysteria-inducing cover story for the May 21-28 issue, calculated to inject a little pandemic anxiety back into your summer plans, while garnering reads by fear-porn aficionados.

The not-so-original cover tag, “Winter Is Coming,” appeared over a bleak blue winter scene featuring spiked COVID virus instead of snowballs and fearsome predictions underlined for effect: “No herd immunity.” “Deadly new variants.” “Why scientists predict another COVID surge.” Eek!

Even as the Centers for Disease Control miffs liberals with surprising new guidance that fully vaccinated people can shed their masks, Newsweek is repackaging pandemic fears (lockdowns! travel restrictions!) in a dramatic cover story.

The online headline deck: “Forget Herd Immunity! Winter COVID Surges Will Bring Lockdowns, Travel Bans, Crammed ICUs.” The alarmism by Newsweek’s Fred Guterl was accompanied by plenty of cheap shots against Republicans.

    As India descended into a COVID-19 tragedy that dwarfed anything the country had experienced in the pandemic so far, with hospitals inundated, oxygen supplies short and vaccines reportedly being stolen from warehouses, American politicians thousands of miles away were clamoring to end pandemic restrictions.

    Representative Jim Jordan railed at Dr. Anthony Fauci in the House chambers, “You don’t think Americans’ liberties have been threatened in the last year, Dr. Fauci? They’ve been assaulted!” Alabama Governor Kay Ivey told Fox News, “We have been at this for more than a year now, and we have simply got to move forward. Endless government mandates are not the answer.”

    Many Americans are eager to invite friends for a barbeque, belly up to a crowded bar, attend concerts and eat dinner in popular restaurants. Texas and Florida opened beaches and bars in early May….
