It would be hard to protect against forgeries if you would be putting a simple stamp on it, and I don't think anyone will be checking the serial number of a banknote each time. You`d need to print your own paper money, control its volume, ensure its safety and what not to prevent easy forgeries. In the end, something like BitBills is probably easier to pull off.

I don't know if there is a need for paper bitcoin.  However, it can be done cheaply by using any failed currency with a serial number.  The world is corrupt and there are hundreds of them.   Then just put a bitcoin stamp on it and run a full reserve bank writing down the serial number.   Please if you do it don't use a currency that is black and white or has some corrupt idiot on it.   it might help to have a 1 bitcoin note to be used at a sandwich shop or to get a hotel or something like that.  You can buy many of these currencies for less than a penny each.  bitbills might be better but they have an expense.
