Hey pooya87,

Yea the problem is that these servers don't expect a request from the browser essentially but another server.
Blockchain.info 's api gets around this by allowing you to request to have them send you the correct cors headers:
https://blockchain.info/balance?active=1337ipJbP7U9mi9cdLngL3g5Napum7tWzM&cors=true

That &cors=true allows the browsers to not freak out essentially.

However I just implemented blockchair ( i use it already for bch and a few others ) into btc so that now bech32 addresses work! Cheesy

Thanks for finding that out for some reason I had not checked for bech32 but we are good to go now.

pooya87, Sorry got sick last week the problem with blockonomics is that it gets a cors issue with a react axios request. There is no nice way to get around this other than to proxy but the point of the project was not to do the requests for people but to allow them through their own client side request. Although perhaps I might be missing a solution around these cors issues.

I am looking into others that accept bech32 so I'll have a fix for that soon!

i have no idea what that issue is. but as an alternative i can suggest Blockchair.com block explorer which also supports a couple of other altcoins such as bitcoin-cash, bitcoin-sv, litecoin, ethereum.
it also supports SegWit bech32 addresses. an example with bitcoinwiki address:
https://api.blockchair.com/bitcoin/dashboards/address/bc1qc7slrfxkknqcq2jevvvkdgvrt8080852dfjewde450xdlk4ugp7szw5tk9

you can read the documentations here: https://github.com/Blockchair/Blockchair.Support/blob/master/API_DOCUMENTATION_EN.md

Thanks very much for the reply clicanet!

There is no limit to the amount of addresses you can input! Especially once you put it out into a csv it is very easy to constantly check them and update.

Haha yea sorry the url is long, if I get a donation on point perhaps I should change it. I had it like this as a little unique name. My browser just lets me type in 1337 and it pops up as an answer for me now Tongue

Wow! This is amazing! Bookmarked it here, thanks the script is very good, no doubt I'll use it for my internal administration. Is there a limit to wallets? And, why the address is so big? It's hard to memorize the address.

1337ipjbp7u9mi9cdlngl3g5napum7twzm.com maybe bulkwalletcheck.com is better, don't you think?

Thanks!

Hi pooy78,

Thanks for taking the time to look at the site and for your helpful comments.

Here are some advantages of this site over a direct blockchain explorer:

   a) It allows the user to check multiple addresses at once.  Most blockchain explorers only allow the user to check one address at a time, which is tedious.

   b) It allows the user to check several different cryptos at one site, rather than looking around for a different blockchain explorer for each crypto.

   c) It saves the user’s public addresses in a csv

   d) It allows the user to input a csv with multiple public addresses, which is much easier if you have a large number of addresses.

   e) The user can pull up a QR code of any of their addresses and be easily and safely paid

We are working on a phone/table version right now and hope to release it soon.
The point is for those that have done paper wallets to make it easier to manage multiple different paper wallet currencies.

We will totally change the bitcoin api, the one you suggested looks quite good thanks for for bringing it up!

Thank you for the feedback. You are right, we did not notice blockchain.info did not support bech32 .... almost unbelievable.

since this is a website instead of a desktop, phone,... application and also since it is using different block explorer APIs to check the balances, can you explain what the benefit of using this website is compared to people directly using a block explorer website to check their balance?

p.s you may want to change the API you use for bitcoin (blockchain.com) it is the worst and it does not support SegWit addresses (bech32). i suggest blockonomics API but there are more newer ones that i haven't checked myself that support SegWit.

MISSION STATEMENT, PLANS AND FEATURES

Paper Wallet Checker
https://www.1337ipjbp7u9mi9cdlngl3g5napum7twzm.com/

MISSION STATEMENT:
Paper Wallet Checker (PWC) is designed to meet Andreas Antonopoulos’ standard of ‘even your mother or grandmother can use it’.  Our goal is to be one of the tools that makes crypto technologies so easy to use its like email to non-technologists.

FUTURE PLANS:
Paper Wallet Checker is an open source project that provides an easy and secure way to check the balances of your paper wallets for seven of the most widely used cryptocurrencies.  PWC plans to add more coins based on user input.

One of the differences between PWC and some similar hobby projects is that the team is committed to improving and adding features to PWC.  Below are a list of features that PWC is planning on making:

   * Native Andriod app of PWC
        * Add more features/style to the android app!
   * Adding More Coins to PWC
   * Adding transaction history option for addresses
   * Adding testnet address

The team at PWC is also planning on making a similar paper wallet generator.  Most paper wallet checkers and generators are not well maintained and only cover one or a few coins.

Funds received from donations and advertising will be used to pay developers to add these features and maintain the app.  In addition, if sufficient funds are received PWC plans to run full nodes for all the coins on the app.  After that PWC hopes to provide an API for other developers to access these full nodes.

With your help PWC can be an important app in making cryptocurrencies easy to use for the non-technical public.

Github: https://github.com/1337ipJbP7U9mi9cdLngL3g5Napum7tWzM/PaperWalletChecker

FEATURES:
Paper wallets are known as one of the most secure ways to store your cryptocurrencies.  When a user wants to check the balance of their paper wallets they are often forced to give up their private keys or register with a website or app.  This reduces the owner’s anonymity and reduces the security of the owner’s funds.  Paper Wallet Check solves these problems by only allowing users to enter public keys, by not requiring the user to register, and by using client side only code.

Paper Wallet Checker (PWC) allows the user to enter multiple addresses.  PWC verifies that the addresses are valid and not private addresses, before checking the balances.  Once the addresses have been entered the user can choose to output the address to a spreadsheet.  In addition, the user can provide PWC a spreadsheet to enter the addresses.  This provides unprecedented ease of use.

Once the addresses are entered the user can click on them and bring up a QR code.  This allows users to receive funds easily and securely.  PWC also allows them to check that the funds have been received.  This feature is great for servers, taxi and uber drivers, and anyone who receives tips and remittances.

Edit:
Just recently got a video up of using the site:
https://youtu.be/_l7jr9-o-NQ

Also if you would like to see the mobile app that is currently in development you can check it out at:
https://expo.io/@1337ip/rnpaperwalletchecker

Just on the right side click open in browser, then if it asks for a code type in "free".
Once the emulator pops up it should look like the expo page just scroll down a little and click open app!
