What exactly is bitnation? Who has a simple elevator pitch & eli5?

Can be found by simple googling. I decided consciously to not link this thread to any of the materials I know (except by the official page). It is important to remember that at present I am not in any relationship with Bitnation whatsoever, and not speaking on their behalf. If this changes, I will likely make a new professional thread and actually start selling this stuff. This is just probing.

I'm in only if Amiir Taaki was made president, or a thought leader or something.  He's one of the crypto guys who isn't corrupted.

Amir is a constant source of inspiration for the team, and collaboration is in no way ruled out from Bitnation side.

I voted "My participation depends on evaluation of the facts of the venture and the offering" I have to figure what it is, how it works and what if any is the regulatory risk of an attack by some government.

I thought this project was dead. It is a good idea that I could get behind.

Bitnation was conceived in summer 2014, after about 10 years of background work by Susanne. The first attempt at funding in Oct 10, 2014 (coincidentally the birthday of Crypto Kingdom) was damaged heavily by internal disagreements about governance. In the end, only a meager amount of approx $20,000 was raised, and 2 formerly key people from the team left.

Their attempt to fork this open source project was however not successful, so that branch died. The original Bitnation is well alive, and has almost 300 tokenholders and a community of more than 100 active contributors. The aim of the round that is in negotiation, would be to increase both numbers, finalize the development of Pangea governance platform and move Bitnation to a whole new stage.

Thanks for the quick refresher. I hope this project gets going. I dream of a future with no countries or governments. It is a pipedream, but this may be a step in that direction. Uniting the world as one republic which is governed by the people would be a good step towards that. People often wonder how anarchy would work, most think it is impossible, but this may be a solution to enlightening people that anarchy is possible.

I'm looking at the website, is Bitnation basically its own country?

For example, I could eventually become a citizen of Bitnation?

Hi,

Bitnation is providing governance services, and is not itself incorporated in any outside world jurisdiction, nor will be.

There is currently no Bitnation crowdfunding going on, the aim of this poll is to find out the feelings of the crypto community whether that might be a viable way to enlarge the community and crowd of supporters of Bitnation, and also to provide money for the activities.

The likely size of this type of financing opportunity, if it materializes, is between 100k-1000k USD total, and I am not officially selected to organize the round, this poll is pre-agreement.

The participant would receive XBNX tokens (ethereum platform) with the tokens having nominal voting and dividend rights but the actual power in the organization is cemented to founder Susanne Tarkowski Tempelhof with veto clauses in shareholder agreement.

I am not affiliated in Bitnation any way, don't own shares, tokens or rights, and none of my close friends even works there.

I welcome discussion and reserve the right to keep it strictly on topic by deleting conflicting posts without prior notice.
