LOL the reasons get shallower and shallower and it seems one can't be sure if these people are serious or just playing practical jokes on somebody. These are paying customers and I don't think they deserve to be removed from their flights by these lame reasons. It's such a shame to hear all these

Just because they are paying customers, they don't have the right to break the rules. The rules are their for the passengers own safety. If a passenger use washroom during the take-off, then there is a high chance that he will get injured.

What is it with these US-based airlines? They seem to have a petty and vengeful attitude towards any passenger that doesnt agree with them.

Never experienced anything like that when traveling through Europe, the middle-east, and Asia.
Over the years Americans have come to dominate the world. They are taught from childhood to believe that they are better than everyone and always right. Therefore, there are such cases. And it's not just the plane, it is everywhere.

This is bullshit. What country do you hail from oh so high on the pedestal of superiority?

You know what is the cause of these incidents? 9-11. It has nothing to do with being American and everything to do with the insane police state rolled out after the attacks. Since then flight crew have been given much more authority and like most people with too much authority they tend to abuse it. If you doubt me spend 5 minutes talking to any DHS screener at the airport.
I agree with you. After 9/11 the world has not seen before. People can easily sacrifice the rights of others, but when it comes to their rights there are incidents. Now this is happening in planes, but very soon such a tightening of the rules will be on the streets.

Use the bathroom BEFORE you get on the plane! This was avoidable on the passengers part it's not like a medical Emergency or something.

It's not mostly the airline's fault, but I hope that they understand what the person is feeling, wanting to use the bathroom. I just hope that she has waited until the plane took off, there's a warning when the plane is about to take off, and it's just that easy. I hope they just shrug it off first.

And what is he supposed to do, shit and pee on his seat?

No. Either he should have gone to the bathroom before the take-off, or he should have waited for 10 minutes so that the aircraft is on a stable path. The rules are very clear. The passengers are not supposed to use bathroom while the flight is taking off. If he is not capable of holding on for 10 minutes, then he should not travel by air.

I have mixed felling about this, when you need to go you need to go, but at the same time the rules are there for a reason, I suppose this has to do with some regulations regarding terrorism or something like that.

I think it is really ridiculous, I'd have to agree to the passenger who filmed the incident. True there is a regulation that they have to wait for takeoff but really, delay the entire flight? What caused the delay is not the man but their reaction to him. And what is he supposed to do, shit and pee on his seat?

These American airlines are starting to look horrible in comparison with the worst airlines in Asia.
Now imagine that because of any trivial reason FAA regulations are not abided...
Why to have them than? What's the point of all safety features if natural urges cancel them all?
Laws are simple, sit on your damn ass while take-off. If you are to lazy to use bathroom before boarding than sorry but your place is somewhere else.
Lets say captain decides to take off while dude is sitting on the toilet  Roll Eyes faeces all over the place! ->100 lawsuits. Guy is falling to his face and breaks it over the sink -> lawsuit, millions lost. Guy gets killed during that fall, air plane is a crime scene, everybody looses time and money, etc.
Not to mention power consumption of vacuum toilet. Maybe the plane ins not ready for it? You ever tried starting older car with AC, radio and some electronic gizmos plugged in?

As usual, the media is sensationalizing the news. The flight attendant was also a black male, but that is not mentioned anywhere in the article. It is clear that this incident didn't had anything to do with race. Passengers are supposed to put their seat belts and sit still while the plane is taking off. But this guy was running here and there, causing a delay in takeoff.

A passenger was removed from a recent Delta Air Lines flight after defying a crew member's orders and using the bathroom while the jet awaited takeoff.
After United Airlines' truly horrendous few weeks of PR, Delta decided they want to get in on the fun, kicking a man off an April 18th Atlanta-to-Milwaukee flight for using the bathroom while the plane was taxiing to takeoff — and deboarding the entire plane in the process.

The man, Kima Hamilton, said that he simply couldn't wait to use the restroom, and when he returned to his seat, the flight attendants announced the plane would be returning to the gate to have him removed.

Passenger Krista Rosolino, who filmed the incident, wrote an open letter to Delta expressing her displeasure with the incident:

Not only did your staff truly harm and humiliate one person who was forced to pay hundreds of dollars for a new same-day flight, but you forced the rest of us passengers to endure a 2 hour saga of watching a man being targeted for having a bathroom emergency.
