I see a lot of discussion about passphrases subsequently followed by something to the effect of "dude, your passphrase sucks because you forgot the entropy is xyz" etc.
What is the textbook way to calculate entropy of a passphrase (in clear layman terms please)? Secondly, does passphrase entropy directly correlate with the safety of that passphrase from hacker methods to guess that passphrase as it seems the assumption?
