in the first window you see when you run electrum you just change the filename to a new and unused one to get the option to restore in a new wallet file. alternatively there's file > new/restore via the menus.

To restore your wallet using the seed phrase, just reinstall a new version of Electrum wallet and select the "I already have a seed” and then you can proceed to put your seed phrase altogether with the password.

You don't need to install a new version of Electrum to restore a wallet.. OP has version 4.0.9 installed, that's the latest release...

You're still lucky because you have the seed and you can surely recover your Electrum wallet through seed phrase even though you have forgotten your password.
But if you lose them all, there's no way to recover your Bitcoin, it will be lost and stuck in your wallet forever.

To restore your wallet using the seed phrase, just reinstall a new version of Electrum wallet and select the "I already have a seed” and then you can proceed to put your seed phrase altogether with the password.

Any problem, you can post it again on this thread so that we will help you.

So i guess i managed to mistype it twice when created it..? Or any other explanations? Any ideas how to proceed here?

Caps lock, num lock, US vs DE or FR keyboard are the usual suspects.
As @mocacinno said, just restore the wallet again, it's much faster than guessing what you've done wrong.
And keep that seed super safe, preferably offline.

Hi,

Getting back after few years, i just downloaded Electrum 4.0.9 wallet to my new computer and managed to get my old wallet back with seed. Very proud of that. Now I tried to send some coins for the first time. When confirming transaction, it asks for password that i just created. Fine. But it says "incorrect password". So i guess i managed to mistype it twice when created it..? Or any other explanations? Any ideas how to proceed here?

You have the seed... Just restore the wallet again but pay extra attention to the password you enter...
