Well, in the meantime I have found a solution: I remembered that I also used the same wallet on another PC, with an earlier version of MultiBit, which didn't have password protection yet. I've checked it and indeed, the bitcoins were there and available. From there, the rest was easy. Smiley
Still, thanks for your answers. Smiley

It can sometimes be possible to brute force it, if you remember some of the password. If you forgot it entirely and have no idea what it is, and don't have any unencrypted backups, then .... well, getting the keys back isn't supposed to be possible.

I'm not an expert, so I could be wrong, but I believe there isn't a way to retrieve the password by design.

Hi all,

I seem to have forgotten my password to my MultiBit wallet.
Could perhaps someone recommend me a way or some password recovery tool to get it back?
Maybe a brute force guesser or whatever... I'm not a programmer, nor do I really know such tools, so any recommendations are welcome.

Thanks in advance for your time and help.
