There are also open source (free) solutions. btcrecover is one, although it's more difficult to use...

Thanks, I knew there was one I missed. Is this yours? nevermind, a click on your profile was enough Smiley

I've been bugged once or twice to create a thread in Tech Support for it so it's easier to find... I should, and I will one of these days :-)

No I dont escrow anymore.
You could bruteforce it. If you remember enough about your password it might be possible. There are also services for that. Most specialize on bitcoin-core, but I think you can find someone for electrum as well.

thanks, I'll check this.

I thought that if you forget the password it is not possible to get to the wallet

If you have no idea what the password is, it is indeed not possible to recover the wallet. But usually people remember most of the password or have a certain system behind it which helps to remember it. If you know enough about the password a script can be written to check for the remaining uncertainties. The more you know the higher the propability of a recovery.
Thank you for your reply. Now I understand.

Hi, recently I opened a wallet from its archive (the last time I used this wallet was 6 months ago) and I sent funds to it, everything OK till now.
But I didn't remember that for making a transfer I need the password, and the fact is that I don't remember it.
What can I do? I also don't remember the seed but I think I have it in a paper.

Find the paper, create a new wallet, select restore from seed option and set a new password.

Thank you in advance.
