I don't like it either but it is an easy way to get attention to your website if done correctly. It is just another article sharing site to me like digg was.

I'm disagree with this, it's definitely buy a rep/trust, it could be misuse for a bad purposes.

once things like this start up. it ruins real trust/rep. and ruins the whole point of why the vote system even exists
