Not to derail the topic, but there are other VPN providers that accept Bitcoin, and have been doing so for quite some time.

https://airvpn.org/ is one. Based in Europe, with exit nodes in many different countries.

Disclaimer: I'm not a user myself, but I learned about them from a year old post by Rick Falkvinge: http://falkvinge.net/2011/09/27/never-trust-a-vpn-provider-that-doesnt-accept-bitcoin/

Paying for a (private?) TOR exit node might be even better...

I have two question, first http://privateinternetaccess.com/ is hosted in the US, which means if they get a subpoena they have two choices, either give the US authorities what they want, or go to jail and have there assets and servers forcibly ceased. You honestly think they are loyal enough to their customers to go to jail?

Second question is how is it anonymous? If they don't provide solid proof that they purge all server logs and that the hosting companies they use also purge all server logs then they are not anonymous and the OP is spreading misinformation by recommending this company.

This is awesome.  I hope bitcoin continues to be used for things like this.  It's a great use-case.

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
This is great, although I'm not sure if PrivateInternetAccess.com using linode.com for their domain servers is a concern or not.

This is a great real-world example how BitPay, PrivateInternetAccess.com, and Blockchain.info can work seamlessly together to provide a great customer solution!
