Pools basically are splitting the reward between users that have mined the block.

Pools basically are splitting the reward between users that have mined the block.
In a pool you split the work between people, so you are getting payed in ratio to your hashrate of the pool, this also means you get blocks faster.
Solo takes a heck of lot longer but does pay you out a full block, I'd go with pools everytime, or you had to have a redicilous hashrate
