Lets be truthful to ourselves there have'nt been anything good thats coming out from our government in the past nine or ten years now anybody that will say it has favored him or her must be a politician under the ruling party and getting something from it, minimum wage increased but what is the market like has prices gone down?
They increased minimum wage and inflation keeps going up everyday so that the money will be useless afterall

This minimum wage of a thing, how many states has actually implemented it? Cause I don't know of anyone, the 70k minimum wage is beginning to sound like audio money. Okay let's say they finally start paying workers that 70k, it's still not going to be enough compared to the work they do and compared to the prices of things now but at least half bread is better than none. That's how it was everywhere that corpers allawee has been increased and corpers were still paid 33k.

One big truth that a lots of people who are happy about the increase in minimum wage is that the purchase capacity of N30k is now equivalent to the new minimum wage is approved  hence I feel that it doesn't make any difference.
It will make a little difference because from what you said that 70k will be like 30k which I disagree with you. Who is receiving a minimum age of 30k with this current inflation is like not receiving anything but if an additional 40k is added to it, it will solve one or two problems, so it is a plus and not stagnant. To solve the problem of Nigeria will need a lot of time which the politicians will not do. Back to per hour payment, I don't think that it will be possible for the government to implement it because the system is full of corruption and personal benefits.

I would rather the economy makes a re-track instead of the government making a standard that the economy can't get better instead it will remain worst hence they will have to make people feel comfortable with the bad economy and conditions by increasing the minimum wage.
It's a redistribution chain that the business man and woman on the street who's not earning a salary from the government or any private firm would want to partake in the minimum wage increase indirectly by increasing the prices of the goods they're selling.  And with how the prices of commodities continue to skyrocket it therefore defeats the meaningfulness of the minimum wage increment.

Over the years I discovered that with each period of minimum wage increment by the FGN the more there tend to be economic hardship which gets to degrade the purchasing power of the citizens. Of a truth minimum increment isn't the solution to the country's economic crisis neither does it ameliorates it. The government would need to employ others crucial and effectively efficient means while they work hand in hand with the NLC.

Increasing the minimum wage won't change anything. Because things are getting more expensive each day and you can't expect for instance a married man with kids yo feel comfortable when earning 70k monthly . Just imagine the price of bag of rice alone , the thing is that if you focus more on this country problem you won't be able to grow or solve yours.

The best thing is to find some other source of earning , because now things are way tougher than then.  Because even the increasing of minimum wages won't reduce the cost of things in our country.
Bro we know say 70k for this economy no go anything especially a man with wife and kids, when you begin to think of their feeding, school fees, medications and other miscellaneous expenses and other emergencies too. But if the minimum is implemented by all state e go be plus than the current minimum wage. It still the the same problem whether na 30k which is the current minimum wage or na 70k which na the proposed  minimum wages.

70k no go really solve the problem but na plus e go be for most people for the country now. Imagine having to survive in this economy with 30k, omo Pasin go just craze one day. It really bad that most people if not over 70% of Nigerians de this situation currently some sef de receive less and are still trying to survive.

We know 70k is nothing compared to how things are in this current economy but then it will mean alot to most people so if other state implement it at least most people lives will be more easier.

The minimum wage is yet to be paid to the workers and with the increase cost of living. The increase in the minimum wage will not bring about any big change in the economy or how people tend to live their lives in the street. Even the labor congress have spoken out about this and for the government need to look into the minimum wage again and increasing it is not something that looks like it is going to happen.
The minimum wage na money? One thing wey Nigeria government just dey try do na to make sure say the mass suffers. See how much these men dey bag for pocket every month as salaries. Not to even talk of their own weekly allowance. Dem no even gree accept the small 70k wey the labor people Dem dey ask for. Na totally wickedness to me. See how much be bag of rice now.. person wey dey wait for minimum wage wey dem no even gree send, na dat one e wan Tay buy food feed e family? We no even supposed dey talk about the payment method for here e no go help any thing as everybody dey suffer. Things for market don double.. I just no come understand how the country be sef.

Payment has been one of the major concerns for every worker and a self dependent person. So with this everyone's desire is to have a nice job earn a nice amount of money, but our countries bad economy has deprived so many people from this right. It is good that the labour force have this nice vision to fight for the minimum wage which was finally agreed at 70k. But states are yet to carry out this minimum wage but we all hope that soon it will be settled, so what if this 70k minimum wage is finally working who is going to smile how many people are going to be happy at it?

Let the government implement the minimum wage firstly before we can conclude just about how they have done well or in the hope that they do well.
This country economy is one that requires more than a paying job to survive in and am sure that it is only those who have been employed by the federal government would be paid such amount, because am certain that the state government of any state would not employ labour and pay 70k.
Those of us who don't have jobs may have to live a harder life of survival because I believe the price of normal everyday commodity will sky rocket, exponentially.

Private workers have no hope of this minimum wage especially small private owned businesses e.g, local private schools, sales girls and sales boys, bakeries and so many more but this same people are working their lives out for a little amount of payment. 70k can't solve any issues in this our current economy in a family of parents and children.
The best option here is for Nigeria to implement a per time payment method this will help reduce overwork and nobody would be cheated too, unlike someone working for 12 hours every day at the end of the month you receive 20k as your salary in this present economy of high price of things I think a per time method would benefit both the private and the government workers.
Yes, the minimum wage has been increased to 70k , whereby the cost of living has multiplied.
Which makes no sense to me; there's no change in the economic system.

Talking about the per-time method, I believe it will be best for people to go back and get some other work to earn more money, but with the greed of some employees, they might not accept it.

Working in most of the private companies is just so demanding because the employee doesn't consider the time that was agreed upon at first.

I remember when I was working in a pharmacy as a sales administrator. Funny how I was forced to work as a pharmacist assistant, care- giver, and home service nurse.

I have to cover up when we get short of nurses, and guess what? No salary was added, and when I opened up requesting my manager do something about it and not been able to cover up for the company, I was queried and tagged insubordination.

So most workers can't even express themselves but have to work just to make a living.

But where the state of the country has a per-time method, the agreement between the employee and employer stands, and they can speak out when necessary.

Omo if Nigeria implement per time payment which is by the way one of the best payments options, it will still be the same Nigerians that will not be happy about it. As this means that Nigerians will have to be up and doing for their work place. E also mean say those people wey dey see Friday as half day nor go fit dey less affaire towards their jobs again. Those people wey dey come work to clock in and go their business nor go fit do am again. E mean say as you work your organization go get value for their money wey Dem dey pay.
