Thank you Matthew for honoring this agreement. I am not sure how it relates to you, but if you are willing to take the debt I accept this and defer it to you. I appreciate the forthcoming in fixing this quickly. If he would have contacted me sooner I might not have asked for anything, but I was left with my last notice being to continue work. I did not want to make this a big public issue but in PMs usagi was not only very confrontational but quite rude, and seemed to be of the opinion that his connections would allow him to steamroll over this issue. Once again thank you for taking care of this, as well as strengthening the community as a whole. I will lock this thread now.

This is the type of bullshit that shouldn't be on this forum.
The guy did what was asked of him, pay the dude already.

Cheers TECSHARE, and good luck.

The time you spent on the project should not be ignored, I hope you are able to get payment. (I know that feeling)

Yeah, I'm getting deja vu here...

Remember me? (At least OP didn't go starting a thread telling everyone to "abuse the work freely")

You did your work and should be paid for it.

Theft of services is still theft. Pirate failing to fulfill his financial obligations does not mean usagi is exempt from his obligations.

It was wrong for him to rely on pirate as some sort of backing for his little project. TECSHARE completed all, or most of the work and should be paid accordingly. If you have a flooring company come into your home to do some flooring, and when they're 90% done you realize you cant pay for the damn house doesn't mean they do not get paid.

usagi requested some logotypes and banners be completed for some of his companies here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/design-97172
All relevant quotes are listed below.

In summary we made an agreement on the 2nd of August (1) where he requested a logotype and banner be completed “rush” and “asap”. I completed a logotype and a basic banner as requested (2) and he clearly stated his satisfaction with the logos not only in statement, but by offering to pay 50% of the total project cost. (2) Who pays money for a project they don't approve of? He then clearly states that he would like to move forward with the banner (2).

I then update the logo, attempting the sail design as requested, but the concept is a visually boring bunch of boxes, so I ditch the idea and update the fonts as requested (3) and then complete a basic banner with the modified logo requested on “rush” (4) I contact him 3 times over a period of 9 days with no reply (5) I then work on an animated banner which was completed to its current state (6) on the 17th just after I sent my last contact before his reply.

On the 18th, 9 days after his last reply, he notifies me he no longer needs the work (7) he makes no mention of any form of compensation, and after I ask to be compensated he proceeds to become extremely adversarial and begins talking about using some Bitcoin court which I have never heard of or have any interest in participating in.

At this point I have completed the large majority of the hours required for this project. He clearly approves of the logo and requests work on a banner, as well as offers partial payment for the project. He feels because he cancels the project after most, but not all of the work is completed, I have therefore not met the approval standards for ANY payment.

If I had canceled this agreement I would not expect any compensation, but he clearly APPROVES the logo design and asks for additional work then later decides he wants to cancel the agreement after work is complete on the logo and basic banner. An agreement is called an agreement so that one of the parties doesn't simply change their mind later after time and resources are wasted leaving the other party who operated in good faith paying the bills for some one else's mistake.  I am sorry your company is collapsing – but that was not my mistake.

In this case I not only spent the majority of the development time on the logo, I passed up other jobs in order to complete this project. In conclusion, I would normally charge $100 for a basic non-rush logotype design. This project was a RUSH, in addition a basic banner was completed and significant progress was made on an animated banner. COMPLETELY DISREGARDING the cost of the banners and the rush order, I would normally charge $100 in Bitcoin for a completed logotype WHICH HAS BEEN PROVIDED AS REQUESTED AND APPROVED OF BY USAGI.

I have attempted a civil resolution to this problem but usagi is extremely confrontational clearly not interested in honoring his agreements, so this post seems to be the only resort.

Therefore usagi should render a payment equivalent to $100 in Bitcoins to: 1BBDrjFdoKSQqXgAmSt5Ng5RHNvTytiqey     in order to honor the agreement he made with me, or be marked as a scammer as a person who has committed theft of service, just like any other form of scammer we have here.

Hello again!

I tried to implement some of your feedback such as the pirate font, but you'd be surprised how hard it is to find a good pirate font now days. As far as finding the text from the movie, id say it was custom drawn especially back then with Terry Gilliam doing all the art. I have a simple banner for you, sorry it took so long but without a basic logo first what is the point of a banner?

It is the size you requested and should serve your purposes until the animated one can be completed. For that banner I am thinking I will have the buildings on the right there first, then the red building will move into it, the wheel from the logo will drop crushing the city as it fades, then the text will move in. If you have any ideas for copy let me know, otherwise I will just come up with something. Hope this works for now. Please let me know if you have any more comments or feedback. Thanks!

Do you know exactly what size your banner needs to be? Haven't heard back from you on the quick banner. Curious if you liked the concept for the animation as well.

Hi!

Unfortunately Pirate's BTCS&T just blew up. As an insurance company we're launching all zigs. I have to stop this. I am not going to be able to use any of the designs, and we might go under.

Sorry o_o it was a bad time for us to get into the insurance business, right before pirate collapsed :>
