Some vendors could have such loopholes which some scammers or hackers find and then misuse. I believe  OP should try to report to the vendor about the loophole so they can secure their platform from such transactions. It's quite strange that even till this day such kind of bugs/loopholes exist in platforms.
I appreciate OP's honesty for making sure the seller receives his payment by increasing the transaction fee (and asking here about how to do it properly). A dishonest person could have canceled the transaction or just waited for it to be dropped from the mempool so he get the money back.
But I totally agree with you. He definitely should inform the seller about this bug in their payment system so they can fix it ASAP.

It is just uneasy to be predicted since you said you have waited for over 48 hours and still not confirmed.
Please read previous posts before making a reply.
OP was able to increase the fee and the replacement transaction is now confirmed.

Maybe since it stated low transaction fee then is assumed to either a case of incorrect transaction as a system error or a jam of network congestion.
May I ask what you mean by "system error" and how it can make a transaction stay unconfirmed?

Don't you think your vendor may have received the payment? Possibly network error may have been holding your confirmation while it has gone successfully.
Don't you think you can check the transaction on block explorers and see if it has been confirmed?
And what do you mean by "network error"? How a network error can hold confirmation while it has gone succesfully?

But I wonder how you have got to receive the product being paid for when transaction has not been confirmed.

For BTC 6 confirmation is safe but considering the cost to mine BTC, these days 1 confirmation is more than enough for BTC blockchain.
The hardest is a first confirmation because it relates to fee rate you use for your transaction. If it is confirmed, with one confirmation, things will become more easily. A next block will come after 10 or a little bit shorter or longer waiting time, or even some seconds, and your transaction will get a second, third confirmation with no stress of waiting for it.

If it is a big fund, waiting for 2 or 3 confirmations before completing your trade with a trade partner is better than only 1 confirmation. With small fund movement, 1 confirmation is enough.

How many Bitcoin confirmations is enough?

The parent transaction has not been confirmed, however I've actually received the product that I've payed for, is this possible?
Possible if the seller does not care about receiving the coins. There is always a risk that the buyer can cancel the transaction after receiving the product. It is advisable to trade only after a confirmed transaction.

So, both transactions will get confirmed. Someone pump your transaction fee some time ago using RBF (Replace by fee). It is about 38 sat/vB,  it will soon get confirmed.

Already confirmed, I think this particular transaction actually confirms more to me that a transaction is which is been canceled is simply doing an RBF to a the same details as the initials. So wallets putting out cancel transaction feature are just making it simple for the users and simply causing confusion as many think they are doing actual canceling a bitcoin transaction not knowing that is a clear RBF done. The RBF or cancellation as per the OP will replace the parent transaction and render its child invalid

Thanks for all the help guys!

I was able to cancel the child transaction by increasing the fee of the parent to higher than the sum of both transactions' fees. So now it's just the first transaction that's waiting on confirmation. It hopefully won't take more than a few hours.

These are the TXid's :

Parent : e7d7cc81108548e9e1ea29407b63491530dd411033c8617b99ecf57aa53d79a1
Child : 5bd1fc55edbfaee5157c7954ac9137b86498c64a8d55232c54ff907e22db960a

The child will pay for parent (CPFP) fees.

You can see the CPFP in the link below

It looks like he was the one who did RBF

I've tried to increase the fee multiple times to no avail. I'm not able to cancel the transaction either. I keep getting this message :

Good news is the effective fee rate is now become 23.1sat/vb and that's not too far from the tip of mempool. As of now it's away from 5mb but the income TXs remains at this rate the transaction could be confirmed in another couple of hours.

The parent transaction used 10sat/vb which means it's away 65mb from the tip of mempool. The fee used in your transaction is 37sat/vb which definitely will increase the parents fee too but still it was now enough.

The reason why you're getting this error is you don't have enough balance to do CPFP further in your wallet.

If it remains unconfirmed after 14 days without reboradcasting it further will push the nodes to drop transaction from their mempool.

You better Post TXid of transaction to get better look at it.

Hi,

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to cryptocurrency, but thus far I've had no issues doing small transactions using my electrum wallet.
Recently however something seems to  have gone wrong. I made 2 transactions in a short timeframe without waiting for the first one to be confirmed. This made me spent unconfirmed coins and from my understanding the second transaction (child) can't be confirmed until the parent has been confirmed first. This shouldn't be an issue normally, but this is where the problem comes in.

The parent transaction has not been confirmed, however I've actually received the product that I've payed for, is this possible?
I've waited 48 hours to see if it would confirm, but nothing changed. I've tried to increase the fee multiple times to no avail. I'm not able to cancel the transaction either. I keep getting this message :

The server returned an error when broadcasting the transaction.
Consider trying to connect to a different server, or updating Electrum.

insufficient fee
Your transaction is trying to replace another one in the mempool but it does not meet the rules to do so. Try to increase the fee.

Below are images of my wallet and the block explorer page.
