Come and create an app that helps to solve a local problem of Berlin.

How oddly specific.  I sincerely hope no one falls for this trap.  PayPal's in the same axis-of-evil as WalMart.

Isn't Berlin where there's that concentration of merchants who are accepting bitcoin at PoS?

Yeah - I can see where PayPal would consider that to be a 'local problem'.

lol!

There will be events like this in 10 (I think) cities around the world. The winners meet in California for the finals.

Smart idea. This way they can profit from people who have good ideas and want change instead of money. So they turn some of their ideas into money making machines for themselves.

Maybe we could hack this method of theirs for the good of bitcoin and society somehow?

For some reason I seem to have signed up for some paypal developer newsletter...

So they invited me to the Berlin part of this global event call the "BattleHack".

PayPal Battle Hack is a 10 City Hackathon series for devs to come test their skills and change the world. Bring your best ideas for developing apps for social good, find some team members onsite, and make something awesome.

The said to bring friends in the invitation email:

Come and create an app that helps to solve a local problem of Berlin. Fight bureaucracy, increase internationalization, or anything else. Just bring your team and when you win we will bring you to California to the World Finals!

Any ideas?
