On the 16th of June I bought 7TH of hash at Zeushash of member Turnoff aka mmmaybe and others, the deal was escrowed through Master-P.I gained control of the account and the seller said just to change the password and they would give me email address when they notified everyone of there new address.In 3 weeks I never got the email and in that time I added more Hash and never touched a penny of the mining earnings.Friday I think the seller got in touch with Zeushash and said the had lost there password and Zeushash allowed them to change it and gain back control of the account.Now the personal email and work email we used to talk during the sale are denying they are the seller and have no knowledge of anything.Monday the seller on here Turnoff said it must have been hacked and they will speak to Zeushash and get me it back but they were too tired at that present moment and of course never heard from them again.I have notified Gothenburg Police of the fraud so be wary of dealing with those names and please notify me if you sell them any other accounts or sales.

I found a great site to sell on www.cryptothrift.com they use escrow and there own payment system.Never had a problem there

Welcome to the club.  Paypal is notorious for this kind of crap!  Hard to believe that a multi-billion dollar a year payment processing platform that was born on the net is either unwilling or incapable of investigating these scamming twat-waffles!

Yes, Normally just confirmation (sending from) of my registered e-mail address with PP is enough.

Paypal and e-bay are splitting as independent companies, Not sure how relevant that is, Paypal is having legal disputes as to it's digital commodity use, and how it's implicated in e-bay, so they are separating the two to help resolve this situation.

This effects me, I like to use PP to buy BTC, I don't like to jump through all the KYC hoops of other payment methods, but only people who really trust me will sell me BTC, and even then they like PGP on my btc address to check my account is still owned by me.

It will all work out in the end.

STOP USING FUCKING PAYPAL!

This is my main concern of Paypal, that you can actually have your account locked very easy.
I got my account locked simply because I moved and have to change my address.
That was apperently so suspecious that paypal wanted me to send in adresss prove, so I did,
then did I have to make a test transfer (1 EUR) from my credit card, and send in prove of the transaction.

You know what happend next???
Then did thay want me to send in a copy of my passport.... this is where I said STOP.
I called paypal to make sure that I did not get in the hands of one of those nasty phiphers, no it was really paypal who wanted all that, I refuse to send ind a copy of my passport, that could be horrible missused if leaked. So from that day and forth is paypal not my "pal" anymore, I abbanded my account and never used paypal again. Nasty, nasty, nasty company. Not recomended

Yeah but try getting a refund from a paypal transaction can take a long time if not paid for with paypal balance. Users dont like this.

Most find it easy to use since its linked to their credit cards.

In this case I`m sure you prove to the issuer of his credit card company, and get his funds as a legit purchase. but not by contacting paypal. You need to get a hold of the credit card issuer meaning the credit card co. eg: chase, mastercard.

Describe your bitcoin as $80 physical items, like a PSU or something else then a digital item.

You explain the charges and what happened and they will send you a form in the mail, but the customer support on the line will transfer the call to immediately retract after hearing your story. You act like a gullible person, they will pretty much take your side and consider it was huge event which you weren't aware of, which is true.

Then just sign off the paper work, and then send the mail back. Which is the a letter of confirmation, on what you have told is the truth.

I don't understand why the BTC users are still using Paypal

Well I would have not started business with him if I didn't have any previous experience with him, but I had him on skype, he msged me, and its been multiple months, or even maybe up to a year I knew him. The previous txs (probably 150$ total) all went perfectly well, so I assumed he wouldn't scam on this one based on our trust.

You don't have to check his trust in order to see that he has negative trust. Any time you look at his profile, or anytime you look at his post in the marketplace, or anytime you read a PM from him you will see the negative trust as well as a big red warning saying to trade with caution.

Not only that but it is very well known by pretty much the entire forum that CandyStripes is a scammer and you should avoid doing business with him, period. IMO you are an idiot for even considering doing business with him.

No no it was much further than that. The money was all sent in 1 day and that was the 50 20 and 17 to make a total of about 80.

Hence the reason why many don't deal with PayPal. I have a question here that which kind of payment cannot be disputed? Gift category payments or other kind of payments via PayPal?

Usually I have heard that payments sent under the "Goods" category are chargedback but I am not sure of this.

Ok,so this is not trust,by making some low transaction one by one with amount of 17 and 20.

Weird because on PD he's actually having 2 accounts, ejaculation and candystripes.

He scammed me out of a account I was selling(Whitelisted), I was trying to help him back in the days of PD2 and he said he needed to test out his betting bot(Never trust a person who gambles), I had a whitelisted account that someone gave to me and decided to help him since he needed a higher paying faucet.

He revealed my password while broadcasting through join.me and at that day, there was a loan request posted on PD. Thankfully one mod that had my google hangouts pointed out his style of posting isn't exactly like mine, and told him to go on to google hangouts. My account got banned from posting because of that incident.

He's probably creating new alts on bitcointalk most likely.

I did many deals with him before, never REALLY checked his trust but I knew there was negative trust. I also had him on skype for a while and I was so trusting cause we did like 5 more deals previous to that.

Can you tell us the reason you accepted Paypal from CandyStripes even though his forum account was loaded with negative feedback and his overall reputation on the forum was that he was a scammer. This was backed with a lot of proof. There are several trusted sources you can use to exchange Bitcoin to Paypal and you chose someone that was the exact opposite of trusted according to almost everyone that's had the pleasure of seeing all the threads and topics he and others had made involving his situation. I'd like to know the reasoning of why you sent money to him, I don't see how you could trust someone like that even if you did talk to him a lot. There really is no hope for scam prevention for people like you if you still going to conduct business which involves risking money to someone who is already a proven scam artist. I've seen this happen many times and I fail to see the reasoning how some people can just dump 1000's of dollars in some cases to complete strangers with minimal to no trading history or in this case a proven scammer. Although not close to that amount of money, if you have things like a computer, internet, forum profile, paypal account, etc, you should have the knowledge to not send money to proven scammers and not just blindly and mindlessly do something without thinking of the consequences just because there's a computer right in front of you which gives you the ability to do it.

Same, I will never deal with BTC-Paypal or even paypal -> random user ever again. Only trusted companies. Paypal is MUCH friendlier towards buyers hence why if you sell BTC they always win. Paypal with a reputable company however is a good solution. I was scammed on localbitcoins, I had the signed transaction with the user, transaction ID, trade ID on the site, proof of everything including the seller telling me, but I still lost the dispute. I contacted BBB and they took 3 months for paypal to tell me the same copy pasted message. Only 70$ but if it were 700$ or something like that I would have gone the legal route and took action. Paypal is pretty ridiculous sometimes.

Simple answer is to never do this. Never use paypal for this reason as many just scam charge back and end up losing the dispute. I have had this pulled on me a number of times in the past but I had enough evidence to sustain what was said what was agreed. With images and also screen recording that provided eveidence of the transaction taking place me sending the coin and them receiving it and them saying payment received etc. Some I had to take legal action on with paypal as they suspended my account once in the past for trading Bitcoin but I had them to rights due to what I had spoke about to support in emails and theri responses to and eventually got my account back and funds.

Now tho I will never do BTC for paypal or even Paypal for BTC unless it is close friends  I actually know and wanting a helping hand at times. Other than that no way would ever do trading with paypal for buying or selling.

Yea on the 2nd time I swear I would quit paypal but its was the only option for me getting money into my bank quickly and easily. Just figured out how to use interac e-transfer (didn't know my bank that that capability) and I have been using that ever since. I use the exchange quadrigacx (canadian) and they usually complete the money into your bank account and useable in about under 12 hours, sometimes in less than 1 hour. Paypal usually took about 3-5 days to insert and I believe there were some fees as well.
I don't trust any p2p exchanges anymore, just me an a REPUTABLE and REGISTERED company.

Yea I didn't know about this either. If I sell my BTC, I always do it via bank transfer. That way if they try to chargeback the money they'll need to pretty much sue me

No no, I did some deals with candy and this was his first chargeback with me. My other deals were all fine. 1 of the chargebacks was from localbitcoins, and another one was from ebay. I trusted candy cause we did many things before

1. If you are dealing with suspicious person. Stay alert. Do not use paypal.
2. Use paypal if you are trading with trustworthy people.

The person who sent me the extra money was NOT candy, and I have known him for a while as well (both me and candy know him). I don't want to reveal his name to the public, but PM me if you have questions. The friend sent me 150 for reperation for the chargeback, apparently because Candy told him so, and he said just to keep the money if he does chargeback. Both Candy and the friend were fine with that. When the chargeback did happen, the friend told me to keep it but buy him about 50$ worth of steam games in return, I have already bought him a couple games he told me, and he is looking for more he wants. The friend is fine with that, and after all it is his FRIENDs money, not Candy's, as he says it is. The reason I am keeping the 27, is because if I send it back he could just chargeback THAT and scam me for 27 dollars more on top of 80 dollars.
If any trusted members want proof I can PM you everything. So the friend who sent 150 dollars is fine with me keeping it with the deal we made, and Candy is pissed because he wants to scam 27 on top of it. He even admitted he wanted to try to extort me. So he owes me 80$-27$, preferably in btc so that he doesnt chargeback that like the scumbag he is.

His friend sent me 150 and told me to keep it if the chargeback went through. It did, and I am giving him some steam cames to repay him, and he has agreed that this is fine. He sent 27 dollars and of course I did not send it back because he could steal EVEN MORE by charge-backing the 27 he sent me. Never deal with this scammer. I will not be using paypal or dealing with anyone when exchanging btc, its just not worth it

If he really cared about his shitty reputation he would sent his 80 minus 27 dollars back, through bitcoin. He just gambled away all the money I exchanged to him....

Escrow wouldn't have done anything since he did the chargeback days later, escrow cant help in terms of paypal transactions.

1. We used to exchange alot. Sometimes up to $100+. He trusted me, I trusted him.
2. We exchanged $50, $20, and $17 in the course of a week.
3. Suddenly my PayPal was limited, and PayPal AUTOMATICALLY chargedback my last 5 sent transactions.
4. I won the chargebacks
5. My account is limited so the money is sitting there.
6. I had a friend send him $150, and I made a new PayPal and sent him $27 on top to cover it.
7. Now he is holding $177 of my money. He owes me $90.

Waiting for him to come online and hand over the $90.

Candystripes is a well know scammer, you should not trade with him also with the use of the escrow it is so risky.

Yep it is gone and this is the last time I am using them as a seller. e-coin.io looks like a promising visa bitcoin debit card and straight to cash is probably the most safe and zero possibility of chargeback. Tired of paypals awful customer service, they did nothing to help me

Candystripes is pretty smart though. He has many many alts that skype you sending ddos threats or something and multiple paypal accounts sending you money. He sent me 27 dollars and said I should refund that back, but I could have refunded it and then he could have chargebacked THAT 27 stealing even more from me. NEVER deal with him, he is such a scumbag.

If I recall correctly, Candy was on MP chat talking about paypal flagging his account and reversing a lot of transactions against his will. While I have no insight into what exactly went down, I have heard of this happening to paypal<->bitcoin dealers, who I very much trust. If you haven't already I'd make sure to get in contact with Candy, it's possible you weren't scammed

Your first mistake was dealing with Candystripes. Your second mistake was using Paypal. Come on, we had this so many times, PayPal is not a safe method to pay for BTC.

When did he send you paypal funds? Candy had multiple complaints against him just not with chargebacks. Not sure why you would deal with someone like him.

I've been using paypal to buy and sell to a select few and haven't had any problems the past 2 years. You just have to be very careful who you deal with.

Just experienced my third chargeback, and this time with candystripes, I sent him 80 dollars btc, and he sent 80 dollars paypal. Its astounding how paypal ceases to help the seller, I will cease any business with them. Total of 200 dollars down the drain with these chargebacks, I see why people use btc instead of paypal...
