I don’t understand, wasn’t it possible to buy bitcoins before? Or I do not understand something correctly, there was a lot of noise because of this, even people were blocked due to suspicious activity related to bitcoin.

That's great news, they've now understood what's really the concept of cryptocurrencies. They've should add really that feature and not just like a transfer on their own payment system.
This only indicates that they really have the support to cryptocurrencies. Well, good old days when most of the people of the forum were just talking about PayPal doing this.
I remember those days as well, some people thought that PayPal will never accept bitcoin as they forbid those transactions back in the day but we argued they could not afford to stay away from the technology or they will replaced by it, and as we know a business does not have an ideology even if they may try to make it seem that way, businesses exist for only one reason, to make money to their owners and as long as that is the case PayPal will eventually become a participant of this market and now it will allow us to withdraw the coins we buy on their platform.
Well, the quote of joining if they cannot beat it really had happened. And that's amazing, isn't it? when we're just talking about the possibilities before and then it came into reality.
It's a business on their part and adoption to our understanding and which is making it easier for the world to know more about cryptocurrencies because they're a big platform that's being existing in the fintech industry.
Many of the things we talked on the forum for years are finally happening and this is one of them, it is simple common sense, bitcoin is a direct competitor for PayPal so I understood at the beginning their reluctance to accept bitcoin, however we knew that it was just a matter of time until they did as they could not kill bitcoin and they would either have to decide to stay away from it and not earn anything out of it or to be part of it and get some money, and between those options it is obvious which one is the most favorable for them, if anything I will not be surprised if in a few years PayPal becomes one of the biggest exchanges in terms of volume in this market as a lot of people have PayPal accounts.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
A representative of PayPal has announced that it will allow users to transfer bitcoin from the platform to their own third-party wallets.

“We want to make it as open as possible,” he said, per the report. “We understand there is more utility to those tokens if you can move them around, so we are definitely exploring how we can let people transfer crypto to and from their PayPal addresses.” - PayPal's Jose Fernandez

i believe this green market will continues, so, hold your coins everyone!!! what about you ?
why does paypal released this when the value pf Bitcoin increased highly so those who has funds inside their platform had already transferred in their wallets before the dump happened.
but the sad part is this only opens for Paypal US users? and not for the whole people that use paypal worldwide.

Its a good news, but i think we dont need paypal adoption since Bitcoin itself is a payment processor.
If its visa or mastercard adoption would be better.
We may not need it but paypal users have now the option if they have Bitcoin of course. We know Paypal is a large company and if they supported bitcoin then it could be a good news indeed, and we might see more financial institutions to support Bitcoin later on. We have to accept we need them to increase the adoption for Bitcoin.

Good news but how about the news that's spreading before about Paypal accepting crypto for their payment gateway? it's more important than paypal letting users transfer their btc outside their platform since it means it's gonna cover a really wide customers while also expose them to bitcoin or cryptocurrencies.
Many popular e-commerce platform already accept paypal as their one payment method and if they succesfully implement what they promised it's gonna be such a bomb, though we could just buy gift card as well if paypal allows withdrawal of btc to third party wallet.

Great news, indeed and furthermore, this news from PayPal will force other big tech companies open their mind and increase developments and adoption for cryptocurrency.

Will Apple be the next Big Tech company join the cryptocurrency ecosystem?
That's true but we don't know what other big companies shall follow their moves. Maybe they're already on their research and from the news that we've got before, FB will have their own stable coin which was named Libra but eventually changed and named to Diem.
Still sucks that paypal only does it for US (as I can now confirm asking everyone I know who has Paypal, not a single one can buy BTC so it's definitely only for them).

I would think though once they install the real bitcoin wallet client, it doesn't matter if we can't buy, as long as we have an address to receive we can all use paypal easily with btc. Good I guess but yeah, as I said, waiting for the government reaction if any.
I still see it as a good start, they've got more users on US and that's why it's the right place for them to start. Once they find huge demand of it on other regions, they'll also allow it to happen.

Paypal loosed some prominent clients the first time they announced bitcoin implementation on their platform, though this is a good news to hear, I'm just thinking the transaction fee to be implemented will be so huge because Paypal is a centralised platform whicw the withdrawal charge will be high more than expected.

Not news though as I know? Paypal was always saying they would do a real bitcoin wallet some day down the line, so this is probably just an initial version of their feature to test out their new wallet client first to see how it would work before putting in a proper client.
Surprised to see that there's no news about it but if it's an official statement, those who have been using them can now enjoy that feature.
How are they going to keep regulated I wonder if the govt starts to implement sanctions:)
For sure there's an equal action on it coming from the government that watches them out or where they're working on.

I don't get how people got mad with Tesla announcement that they accepted Bitcoin for Tesla electric car.

PayPal is a platform for e-commerce and a big payment gate way globally. Adoption for Bitcoin on PayPal is better than Tesla. When big green candles?

Yup. It is a big and good news. Paypal is a big platform and bigger than Tesla.

Leading Crypto Sports Betting & Casino Platform
Feels ridiculous that paypal hasn't implemented this feature since the very beginning since their platform for crypto more or less looks like an exchange and now that they allow it I guess that's a good idea,
but, I doubt anyone who bought btc through paypal really gonna use this feature, What I mean is if the person truly intend to move the btc they bought to their own private key owned wallet
Then why use paypal's service in the first place where there's too many restrictions and rules imposed, pretty sure many people just gonna save their
btc in paypal instead and prefer being integrated with other paypal's service.

Though it should be done earlier ago but this still a big news to consider. Maybe they noticed a decline of crypto of activity in the platform, this is such a big move if they want to grow the numbers of crypto users in their platform it will also give more confidence to their users.

If this indeed happens this is going to be a step forward because since this service was offered I have been very critic form the fact that we could not get our coins out of the platform and I always believed that PayPal was not really offering bitcoin at all and instead just gave that impression, but if this really gets implemented then many people that are offering PayPal for bitcoin trades are not going to need to do it at all and we could avoid a lot of scams in the forum.
