If the cards are not recognized by your mobo, you need to short 2 pins on the risers.
You should google for pci-e short pins and will find which ones to do.

Is it possible to run a rig using only PCI-E 1x -> 16x risers only? I have 16x -> 16x shipping but I have 1x -> 16x right now. Will I be able to run the rig using only the pci-e 1x slots??
