If you're looking for this sort of thing without having to cut the cable or solder connections, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/fs-pci-express-extender-cablesw-molexgpu-dummy-plugspsu-adapters-6128

He was asking how does one accomplish this? Not is it for sale Tongue

take your 1x pcie slot, and cut off the end of it, so it will fit a x16 card. and then you're ready to go!

This is a bad, bad idea.

Its a better plan to buy a 1x pci-e extender and cut that.  They only cost like 6 bucks, so if something goes wrong, it is a much cheaper mistake.

Not exactly... you probably need to bridge some of the pins first to make an x16 card "acceptable" for an x1 extension cable. I created a similar thread here, and shivanas suggested this.

Still have yet to try it out.

How do I do it?  What adapters/converters/etc do I need?  Got an open PCI-E 1x slot and need an extender.  Didn't know I could even mine with it, just give me links!  (That sounded messy)
