2800W for gtx 1070 is too much I think, it will not burn anything logically but you are wasting a lot of resources, you can connect here like 13 1070.

im planning to expand

2800W to power a 6 gpu rig  Huh Huh Huh which gpus?

I second that, isn't overkill ? why are you using so much power for only 6 cards. With so much power you can power 12 video cards easily.

Thats ok, just remember - CPU from the same PSU as MOBO.
And if one psu fault, you can use the 3/6 gpu until change.

Please let me know if it makes sense?
This is the plan

PSU1 & PSU2 are connected to the wall plug (2 separate wall plugs)
PSU1 & PSU2 are connected to each other via ADD2PSU or similar (24 pin split)

PSU1 connects to MOBO/CPU and HDD for power

PSU1 connects to 3x cards and 3x risers using 2 MOLEX (can I use 2 separate MOLEX cables?) and 3x 6 PIN total — or I can use 6 x 6 pin instead?

PSU2 connects 3x cards and 3x risers using the same (or all 6 PIN?)

I have a 1600W EVGA Platinum as main and a 1200W CM Vanguard as slave. They both have 6x 6 PIN

Can I use these cables for 6 pin to 6 pin?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002NPZSQ6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1W3IXICNCDNGX&psc=1

These are my risers
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B077K28B6Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So you have a nice 1600 watt evga supernova  with 5x 6 pin pcie + 9x 8pin pcie cables
According to specs u have Pcie:  5x 750mm, 900mm (m) 4x 750mm (m) just like i wrote.

6 card gpu rig, what graphics cards are u gonna get? are they single  8 pin pcie or 2 8pin pcie per card?
Personally i wouldnt power the risers with molex/sata cables , atleast not if you got a choice , so hers my way how i would setup your system.

Thanks

I would do this  https://i.imgur.com/qczvwoI.jpg

But I need to know if i Can do it with only 6 pin and 6pin+2 or need something else

Some say the risers should be powered by thesame PSU that powers the mobo.

Someone with an electical background here on the forum said that wasn't the deal anymore, since the risers only transmit data instead of power.

As for the

Personally i wouldnt power the risers with molex/sata cables ,

Heard that too. The seller who sold me the risers said I should watch the connectors for a few days. They didn't get hot and seem to be doing do just fine. Mining for 6 months now with sata risers... Still doing OK.

I have never had the molex/sata risers melt for me in the past as there are pictures of around the web and horror stories. But the molex to sata risers that i have had in the past has been some crap quality, as you said keep check if the riser cables went hot well i prob had 30% of the sata molex risers that i had did get hot so  for peace of mind i changed em all to 6pins Smiley

I would recommend the following:

PSU 1 (evga 1600w): connect all risers, CPU, MOBO, HDD, and 2 GPU's
PSU 2 (CM 1200w) : connect all 4 GPU's.

Use extenders to get the pci-e cables to the gpu's and risers as needed.
try to dedicate one strand (cable from psu) per riser for molex or 2 risers per strand (pcie)
Extenders for Molex and pcie are readily available in the market, use as needed.
