force windows update to v1709, make sure after its installed the CPU is idling for a min or so, then try to mine.

How do i force windows to update?

I believe you will need to activate it first.  You can buy Windows 10 Pro keys for $15, so there's no good reason not to pay for an activated and more useful OS.

thanks, i thought Windows keys were like $120 but i just googled and found this:

https://windowspro.co.uk/windows-10-professional-32-64-bit

Is it legitimate? Windows 10 keys in the actual windows store are much more expensive

Try turning OFF the CPU mining in Nicehash.

Color of a USB cable doesn't matter, it's the GENERATION that matters - blue is common for USB 3.0 cables but I've seen them in other colors too.

I already turned off the cpu mining, i mentioned that in my first post

Hi

I recently built a mining rig, here are the specs:
Biostar TB250 BTC+ motherboard
Pentium G4400
2x 4GB DDR4 RAM
4 x GTX 1070s
EVGA Supernova 1000G1 PSU

I am using Win 10 home 64 bit without activation. I have installed all drivers and i only get about 70% utilisation of the gpus when i run nicehash whilst cpu utilisation is 100%. So the cpu is obviously not feeding the cards fast enough. I have searched everywhere and most rigs have similar cpu horsepower as mine if not less but do not have this problem. What am i doing wrong?

Please help!!
Your Problem is on Bios ,Go and enable Mining Mode on Bios,
A process called System Interrupts it's loading your cpu to max.
I had same problem.

thanks, ill double check the page file and version of windows. by the way, i said my windows is not activated so maybe its an old build? i dont want to shell out for an OS and i do not know how to use linux. I have seen somewhere else someone running on an unactivated copy of windows without any problems

Do yourself a favor and get an activated version. if you are broke you can get the assistive technologies upgrade for free. Even using the on-screen keyboard can be considered an assitive use, so go grab it now: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/accessibility/windows10upgrade

Check your usb riser cables, i had simmilar problem two days took me to figure it out.
There was a problem with installing video drivers, when i finally managed to install them after running the miner cpu usage always was 100% and miner crashed.

The problem was black usb cables, when i changed them to blue ones everything started to work correctly. Cpu usage went down to 10% and no more crashes.

Maybe it helps you Wink

Maybe its nicehash that is slowing you down?  Try running a normal miner and see. Also double check to see if you set pagefile correctly even though you said you did.

set page file higher  say 32 not 16  and sometimes like the bold line it did not take.

lastly  some win 10 builds are shit  some are better how old is your win 10  build

you should be 17xxxx  not 16xxxx or 15xxxx

What are you doing wrong ?
It is very simple : you use Windows.
Last week-end, only the iGPU upgrade in Windows 10 : 2 hours !
This system is a big shit.
Use Ubuntu.

Add screenshots to make the situation clearer. You are not mining on your cpu, right? What is being mined on videocards? If it is cryptonight, for example, it is fine that it loads videocards not all the way.
