Crypto Swap Exchange
So, after he created bitcoin.com to compete against bitcointalk.org, now he also make subreddit /r/btc too. Guess he likes competition Roll Eyes
Each forum & subreddit has it's own advantage & disanvatage, so just let people pick what they like.

But, i still stay at bitcointalk.org Smiley

Can someone explain me who Roger Ver is...

Why is he worse than Theymos, who keeps censoring and deleting lots of useful threads/discussions
But this is his forum he can do what he likes with it. He pays the bills to keep the lights on in this place doesn't he? Or its the community donations paying for this site to be up and running without blackout times, etc.

Its not his personal property, it's people forum, not his. He got it from someone(satoshi) for the betterment of the whole community and not for hampering free speech. Also, I wasn't talking about this forum here. I was talking about the sub reddit, things are meant to be decentralized, so stopping people from discussions is not a solution. Theymos has become too protective and isn't willing to take on the views of everyone on certain things(and its not the spirit on which bitcoin was build).

I'd say the forum runs very good on bitcoin earned through ad sells. but in the end you're right, it's theymos' forum.

While I've been a long time member of reddit, I only use the account to actually promote my business there. I remember people use to look at Reddit as one of the bookmarking sites which can generate traffic to websites if promoted to groups. And this is how i view reddit.

I prefer bitcointalk as well.

Oh...is this Bitcointalk big-wigs banning people from talking shit about the fork?
Actually we are allowing way too much 'trolling' and manipulation in my opinion but it's not up to me.

That's fair, I take it back. I'd actually rather ready the more important debates among those that have been a part of this community since 2009 then reading the same questions written by the newest person to join the Forum this month.  I feel like some of the boards are turning into homes for the new, whereas the real conversations are happening elsewhere - I'm sure reddit is a good place for those real conversations.

Okay, as soon as I realized that Roger Ver had that subreddit, I quit it. Immediately. I personally detest the guy; he seems like he's trying to make a competitor to everything; these forums, and now the /r/bitcoin subreddit?

what do you expect? he wants to stay relevant for some reason... while theymos on the other hand does not really care about all of this

Have you looked at the network lately?

I'm trying to get rid of my bitcoins and having difficulty in doing so, 3 MB in unconfirmed transactions?

If another spike in bitcoin happens the network will become practically impossible to use.

Doing nothing is not an option!
3MB of delay is what you consider a huge backlog? Where have you been living during the "stress test", under a rock? There are no problems transacting unless: 1) Your coins have a very low priority; 2) You're very cheap. If you think that Core developers are doing nothing, then you're mistaken.

Either subreddit is shit. Pick your poison between Theymos or Roger Ver.
Well somewhat 'shit', but what can be done? Nobody is perfect.

Censorship on /r/bitcoin has attained new heights and posts are being automoded frequently.
It's good to finally see people massively fleeing the censorship over there.
Which one would you prefer? /r/bitcoin or /r/btc ?

Based on your post it doesn't sound like anyone is fleeing reddit - you say they're fleeing one reddit board to go to another reddit board.

What kind of censorship is being enforced on the r/bitcoin board? Seriously, what could the be censoring?

Both have major issues.

/r/buttcoin is better, compared to either option.

I personally don't use reddit as I don't really like it but may browse something when I'm linked to it but people should use whichever one they prefer. If you don't like how one place is moderated use the other one but I'm sure some people will also have gripes with how the other is modded but people are free to choose.

"massively"? /r/btc was in limbo for years, I don't see a "massive" flood of new users there. that being said, I never understood the problem with r/bitcoin, but whatever, I only visit for news, not for the community

XT shills as opposed to Blockstream shills?
Spreading correct information != shill. How about you actually educate yourself? Someone deluded you into thinking either: 1) That the solution to the problem from Core are sidechains; 2) Blockstream will profit from Lightning Network; 3) Bloating the blockchain (with coffee purchases) is the right thing to do.

People don't want to listen to my bullshit, thus they are censoring me!  Roll Eyes

Free Speech is the most important thing.
I'm a regular Reddit user for a long time and I only use /r/bitcoin for Bitcoin related discussions. Usually I don't follow altcoins in reddit so I don't have any intention to join another sub-reddit. I've never seen censorship in /r/bitcoin, moderators do their job very well.

Number of subscribers as increased a lot in the last few days, it would be very awkward if we don't have a place to freely discuss a censorship resistant technology. Smiley
Not only the subscribers have gone up, but also, it was trending on reddit and was shown on the front page.

I prefer to avoid Reddit entirely because I can't say that I've personally ever enjoyed myself on that website.

I've attempted to give it a fair shot, but everytime I end up on Reddit I just end up wanting the last 15-minutes of my life back.

I prefer bitcointalk.org
