Do you believe we could do something to solve this situation??

Could the Indian experience, have some lessons on how to do it??

Hi BTCIndia and Benson,

As I suspected it was something from complexity theory. It is mainly to do with complexity arising from simple rules. When you form a system with simple rules and leave it alone it can give rise to surprising results. To give a somewhat naive example : imagine H2O : as a single molecule it has no property of wetness but a group of molecules exhibit the property of wetness. This is called emergent behaviour. On a deeper philosophical level, imagine yourself .. what are you ? a human being, and yet in terms of the physics you are just a bunch of particles which would not exhibit the properties you exhibit. Its an amazingly deep concept and is the basis of many articles involving the scientific philosophy of reductionism and holism. And since Andreas has been a computer science student , its not particularly surprising he refers to it. (Btw he did doubt himself to the references he was making but thats immaterial .. I checked and those references seem valid.).

So coming to the context of bitcoin, he was referring to how such simple rules and protocols have made the network exhibit complexity and emergent behaviour.

Too bad I am not in touch much with the theoretical side of things these days (which is the only reason I don't like bitcoin taking my time these days lol). But ill leave you guys with this video of "game of life" .. see it and be amazed . Its truly wonderful conceptually.

Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did.

Cheers

BTCIndia,

Small bump in a long journey of revolution. Silly things always happens and because of one, everyone pays. Nothing to get terrified in long run. An opportunity to buy, I'd say for sure. Look forward to these kind of buying opportunities more in future confessing I missed the buying bus.

Did you understood the Ant Colony clique he always gives to explain Bitcoin? If yes, then please can explain in detail?

I haven't come across that piece yet .. have only seen the guy talk about the high handedness of the regulators for the recent hearing and that impressed me.

About the Ant colony reference I will surely check it in a day or two and get back (need to headed out for some family urgencies right now).

Take your time. There is nothing urgency to understand the metaphor. Family always first. Hope, everything is right at your end. *Praying*

Thanks for the wishes but its something of a minor major problem ... all should hopefully be good .. nothing to worry as of now. Btw can you send me a link to the ant reference .. I am guessing it has to do with complexity.

He always uses it. Here is RT interview quoting "Ant Metaphor" again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJ1yWihBNA4

Shrem has resigned from the foundation. Whatever said or done, sad day to see him go through this.

Yep sad indeed ... they could have done it in a much better manner .. plus the charges against him seem pretty thin as of now.

If u xchange Bitcoin knowingly with drug peddlers and lure them for tax evasion, u'll be arrested whoever u are. Those, who are trying to show this arrest as attack on Bitcoin, are speaking bullshit. If u see attack on Winklevoss brothers, u may say there is a point of concern.
