You guys should check out some of the stuff by Turtle Press. Lots of self-defense topics. I find Knife-Defense to be fascinating...how to disarm a knife-wielding maniac or just your angry spouse trying to teach you a lesson Wink

Yes books are good gifts for parents who are readers but for those who aren't a dollar inserted in every page will make them get excited in every page.

Don't take it literally, dollar in every page means give them books that will give them idea on how to make more money or how to set up business. But as experience says books are not just the thing you must give them but also start up capital. It will be the best gift they will receive.

Insert a dollar in every page. Read enough to them so that they get excited and want to know more. Then suggest a good school where the page-money can buy them a GED, so they can learn to read.

Perhaps you can talk Alan Korwin - who is selling the books; click the picture in the OP for his website - to make the books into audio CDs.

(For the many people who are both, blind and deaf, there is braille. But you will need to be kinda dedicated to turn the books into braille, and to teach it to your parents.)

So your perfect gift to your parents are books? For my parents, they can't read apparently now because of their eyesight. The ideal gift for them could be something that they really want. I'm planning on getting her a watch that she really liked. Maybe your mom and dad want a watch to or something.

Be the best you can be. Give them the books, and then read them to them, like they used to read to you when you were a little kid. And if you have any little kids, let them listen along.

What the actual fuck  Cheesy

I know USA is fucked up, but this collection...god damn  Cheesy

I'd rather buy my dad a 4 line Rubiks cube or something xDD

Or a bloody t-shirt  Cheesy

And he'd be so upset with you for not getting him some self-defense material. Especially after he was robbed, shot, and left for dead.

I'm glad the moderators haven't moved this thread somewhere else, but I am a little surprised they didn't.

I also love the amazing knowledge and exploration we can gain by reading books...though the younger generation may opt to read eBooks but there is nothing that can compensate the feeling of touching the book's pages on a literal sense. Indeed, for older people, books can be the perfect gift we can give to them.
