I think if Philippines will be stricter on its regulation sa paghawak ng cryptocurrency this graph may be the same. Unless we get the full detail of the Hootsuite report kung paano nila kinuha yung data we will just speculate para rito, but I guess that's for confidentiality.

The good thing about the report is we recognized this new booming industry, marami sa atin ang aware sa crypto.

In terms of percentage ay mataas nga ang percentage ng crypto users dito sa pinas pero not necessarily mas marami na tayo compared sa ibang bansa na nasa listahan.

Based sa calculation na ipinakita, ang cryptocurrency users ay based duon sa overall internet users na kung saan ang Pilipinas ay ang pinakamababa. This time I will count how many people are using crypto in the Philippines compared sa ibang countries na listed and let's see kung sino ang may pinakamaraming bilang.

That's it. We can see na mas marami pa rin ang bilang ng US crypto users, more likely because mas marami sa kanila ang gumagamit ng internet at may mas malaking population. About naman sa Data given by hootsuite, it's still unsure for me kasi alam naman natin na anonymous ang users ng crypto and hindi talaga natin natitrace kung saang country ang origin ng transaction. 2 cents ko lang based sa background nila, they are a social media marketing platform so being a bounty hunter, marami tayong posts around so we cannot solely rely on their data kasi it might came solely from soc. med. which is unreliable.

kung legit nga ito na tayo ang nangunguna sa may hawak ng cryptocurrency sa buong mundo yun seguro ay sa pandemic na nangyayari ibig sabihin lang seguro nyan likas na mapaghanap talaga ang pinoy nang pamaraan para kumita gamit ang internet at magandang balita yan na aadopt na nang pilipino ang cryptocurrency. mali pala ang inaakala ko na ang korea ang my pinakamalaking hawak sa cryptocurrency sila nang china..

I'm not into the numbers totally, since may gap talaga pag mga ganito, considering statista is commonly used ng ilang organizations related sa country or world stats, di ko rin nabasa pa yung mismong article ng hootsuite.
Pero a little research kahit on different sources, 67% is way back between 2017 and 2018 pa.

But, anyway, if mas malaki percentage ng current crypto holders/users etc.na mga pinoy surely, like sa nasabi ni mk4, mostly is mga typical crypto ponzi users, since parang kakaunti lang ang nandito or other community forums doing bounties and, even sa paluwagan sa facebook or messenger if ever may familiar dito, may mga ganyan pa Haha. Dami pa din yung gumagawa at sumasali nyan kapwa nag lulukohan.

And really this is a good stat, lalo na mga pinoy palaging babad sa internet and PH is kasali sa top 20 na may pinaka madaming internet users around the world considering kahit mahal at pagong ang services ng mga ISP. So doing anything around the internet is possible talaga especially related sa pera? so earning while naka babad sa internet is the best thing to do.

This calculations might not be it. Tandaan niyo na ang ini-report ng Hootsuite na total number of citizens who have access to the internet ng Hootsuite ay 67% lamang hindi 80% and wala silang minention na kahit anong source maliban nalang sa GlobalWebIndex, wala silang minention na Statista. You may have gotten the 17% sa mga users ng Coins.ph wallet but it is not based on the 67% reported by Hootsuite pero dun sa 80% ng Statista. Parang ang laki ng diperensya ng reported internet users ng Hootsuite at Statista hah paano kaya kinuha ng dalawang ito yung data nila? Dapat at least nasa differece of ± 2 or 3 lang yan to be considered both reports accurate o baka iba lang ang basis ng dalawa kaya naging malayo sa isa't-isa yung kanilang resulta?

I have thoughts about this, kase considering nasa 80% ng population ng pinas are internet users na base sa statista, and sa total record of users ng coins.ph which is over 5 million, and kunting math nakakuha ako ng +17% na result which is the same ng nasa record ng hootsuite. Though not sure about sa math and resources pero possible na ganyan ginawa nila.

While this is definitely a report pondering on, I still believe na malaki ang difference ng word na "reported" dito sa inilabas ng Hootsuite.

The data could have been recovered from custodial wallet providers such as coins.ph knowing na marami na talaga ang gumagamit ng naturang serbisyo dahil nga sa ease of access sa iba't ibang bagay kagaya na lamang ng loading at payments sa power, internet at utility bills. Add to the fact ang growing exposure ng karamihan sa atin sa mga bounties ng iba't ibang altcoins, at painful mang sabihin, eh yung mga scams related to cryptocurrencies na rin na lumalala ng lumalala unfortunately dito sa ating bansa.

Big countries na kagaya ng Japan, S. Korea at iba pang "crypto-friendly" countries ay may pabor din sa privacy ng kanilang assets when it comes to publicized reports like these, kaya siguro malaki ang difference ng ating datos kumpara sa kanila. Either way, at the least nailagay ang Pilipinas sa mapa when it comes to cryptocurrency usage and ownership. Not too shabby for a developing country na may malaking potential.

Investor or not, it doesn't matter kung paano mo kinita or nakuha yung mga cryptocurrency na ito ang punto lang naman ng report na ito is yung percentage ng cryptocurrency owners over the population of Filipinos who have access with the internet. Ma-aaring iba iba ang diskarte ng mga pinoy para kumita ng cryptocurrency siguro nga tama si Bttzed03 na sa mga campaigns, bounties, at airdrop sila kumikita  pero may ilan-ilan din naman ako kilala na kumikita through mining and trading some sa 7-Eleven pa nga bumibili to buy from Coins.ph, simply all of these shows that a lot of Filipinos are either interested or are now already owning cryptocurrencies through the methods na sinabi ko and baka nga kulang pa ito at may iba pa silang paraan para kumita ng crypto.



Hmm siguro naman may "process of elimination" ang Hootsuite na ginagawa sa kanilang mga survey para malaman ba kung ang isang tao na sumasagot nito ay nag-sasabi ng totoo or di kaya nag-oo lang kasi part sila ng crypto-related investment scheme. Yung mga survey questions kasi ngayon hindi na yung simpleng "Yes" or "No" answers nalang may mga follow-up pa yun katulad ng ganito.

3. Do you own cryptocurrencies through "Investment Programs"?
4. If Yes kindly state the name/s of these Investment Programs you have been part of.

Yung mga ganitong survey question palang ma-eeliminate mo na yung mga totoong may hawak ng cryptocurrency or yung mga nagsasabi ng Oo lang kasi part sila ng ponzi scheme na hindi nila alam. Kilala ang Hootsuite sa kanilang data gathering and research kaya masasabi ko accurate representation ito ng totoong number ng crypto hodlers sa bansa.

Let's take note na ang nakasaad sa statistics ng Hootsuite, "percentage of internet users ...who report owning any form of cryptocurrency".

Hopefully not, pero I really doubt na it's not the case, pero hula ko is marami rami sa mga taong to ay kasali lang sa typical cryptocurrency ponzi scheme kahit wala naman talaga silang hawak na coins/tokens. Sana mali ako, pero alam naman nating lahat na hindi na bago at tumatakbo parin tong ganitong investment modus sa Pilipinas.

Tama, at patuloy pa ang pag angat ng antas ng cryptocurrency sa ating bansa dahil tayo mismo ang nagsshare ng mga impormasyon tungkol rito para matuto ang iba.

Para sa akin, hindi man sa Pilipinas nag mumula ang may pinaka maraming volume ng crypto na hinohold, or wala mang whale sa atin, mas mahalaga na mas madaming tao ang may alam sa crypto. Dahil kung naniniwala tayo sa konsepto ng ekonomiya, supply at demand, ang bansa natin ang pinaka mag bibigay ng magandang market price sa mga crypto dahil mas maraming tao ang may alam at bumibili nito, mas mataas ang demand, at malaking tulong ito sa pag angat ng market price ng mga cryptocurrency.

I can't argue with your argument though since you have a valid point. Kung titignan mo yung top 10 countries in terms of ownership of cryptocurrency makikita mo na lahat ng bansang nandyan ay developing countries yung mga developed countries naman na nauuna sa rankings is Portugal and Austria which is 11th and 12th, respectively. Masasabi nalang dito is yung mga tao sa bansa na ito ay mas nakikita yung opportunity sa crypo industry compared sa mga developed countries. This is a good thing for us kasi we are getting more and more interested in the digital industry and lahat naman tayo siguro alam natin na ang future talaga is the tech world, mas ok ng prepared tayo and madami ng aware dito sa bansa natin.


May possibility pero mababa lang siguro ito and the thing is Hootsuite didn't tell anything more about how they gather their results maliban nalang na may tulong sa pag-gamit ng GlobalWebIndex. Let say na mas "privacy oriented" nga sila still the crypto owners in the Philipines is topping the board even if doble pa yung bilang nila. Sinabi kong mababa kasi if you check this countries' laws and enforcement about cryptocurrency masasabi mong strict sila sa US their IRS are always breathing down their necks sa Japan and South Korea naman they have a strict enforcement with their crypto exchanges and are against anonymity based crypto and also yung tatlong bansa na ito strict sa KYC procedures nila.

While reading the thread, I was wondering kung ano dahilan ng mataas na bilang ng cryptocurrency users dito sa Pinas. Isa sa naisip ko ay dahil we are in the third world country, marami na din sa atin ang dumidiskarte ng ibang pagkukuhanan ng income kagaya ng pagsali sa mga bounties, airdrops, at signature campaigns. So mas marami siguro sa naitala ng hootsuite ay mga hunters/sig participants and not necessarily investors. Kung titignan din natin ibang bansa na maraming bilang ng hunters kagaya ng Nigeria at Indonesia, nasa top din sila.

Sa mga bansa kung saan mababa lang ang bilang kagaya ng Japan, South Korea, and USA, hindi kaya yun ay dahil mas privacy oriented sila kumpara sa atin? Kung titignan kasi natin yung caption sa table, ang nakalagay ay "who report owning any form of cryptocurrency". Posible na konti lang ang nag-declare para siguro sa privacy/security nila o kaya naman ay para makaiwas sa tax.

This just means we are adopting the new technology and new changes. Mahilig nga ang karamihan sa paggamit ng internet at napapakinabangan natin ito sa paggamit ng cryptocurrency at the same time. Madami na din sa atin ang nag i invest ng bitcoin and other crypto coins. Thus this data collected only proves that cryptocurrency in our country is having a good image unlike before.

Sa akin lang to ah pero satingin ko kaya tayo nauuna ay dahil mahilig tayong mag try ng mga bagong cryptocurrency. Kahit na ginagawa nating peso ang Bitcoin agad ay malamang na hinohold natin ang mga ibang cryptocurrency na nakukuha natin sa bounty or sa airdrops or sa mga bagong projects na sinasalihan natin.

Isa pa, kaya siguro madaming internet user ang na attract sa cryptocurrency ay dahil narin ito sa facebook. Daming nakakalat na mga cryptocurrency related dun, lalo na yung "Gusto mo bang kumita" topics. Kahit na walang alam sa Bitcoin, basta naka sali sa airdrop at bounty, sinama na siguro dyan sa chart. Alam nyo naman mga pinoy, mahilig sumubok.

We really love to use internet and masaya akong malaman na namamaximize ng ilan ang pag gamit ng internet. I don’t know kung legit yung data pero napahanga ako kase Philippines ang nangunguna dito. Ngayon nasa pandemic situation tayo, sa tingin ko mas marami yung taong nagsesearch about bitcoin at ginagamit nila ang oras na ito para matuto. Kung magkaroon talaga ng mass adoption, isa tayo sa mangunguna doon sana maging supportive paren ang government naten.

Ayon sa Hootsuite, a social media management platform, known for their research on things around the internet ang Pilipinas ay na-uuna sa mundo sa sa pag-aari ng cryptocurrency, leading the world by as much as 17% of it's internet users owning cryptocurrency, habang ang kasunod nito ay ang Brazil na nasa 13% ng internet users nila ay nagmamay-ari ng cryptocurrency. Ang worldwide average naman ay nasa 7% lang which is 10% lower compared to ours. Naglagay na din ako ng additional comments at opinyon ko kasi this is really good news para sa bansa natin.



Hootsuite sa kanilang Q1 2020 Digital Report ay namahagi ng ilang detalye tungkol sa cryptocurrency ownership and uses sa "E-commerce" part ng kanilang report. Dito ko nakita na from the 67% (world average is 59%) na Internet users sa populasyon ng Pilipinas 17% dito ay humahawak ng cryptocurrency which is really amazing to think about considering that a third of our population doesn't have access to internet dun sa merong internet madami ang may hawak ng cryptocurrency dito, para malaman niyo kung gaano kalaki ito gumawa ako ng simpleng chart para mas malinawan kayo


Makikita niyo naman na if we are just talking about internet penetration sa bansa natin kulelat tayo sa mga developed countries we are just 67% among our whole population who has access to internet. Pero dun sa 67% na iyon 17% dito ay mayroong hawak na cryptocurrency which is 25% (25.37% to be exact) of the internet users here in the Philippines owns cryptocurrencies. How does it compare to Japan, South Korea, and USA? Respectively 5.2%, 6.5%, 5.7% ng kanilang internet users ay humahawak ng cryptocurrency. This only means that 25% ng mga Filipino na may access sa internet ay aware din kung ano ang cryptocurrency at papaano ito gamitin.


If we think about it ang cryptocurrency use sa bansa natin in terms of it being a mode of payment ay madalang makita or through our Custodial Wallets lang (Coins.ph and Rebit) and mas madalas natin lini-liquidate ang crypto assets natin to Philippine Peso para mas may gamit. Kaya ko linagay yung tatlong bansa na ito (Japan, South Korea, and USA) as comparison kasi even if they are considered as a "Crypto Hub" or "Crypto Friendly Country" konti lang talaga ang may hawak nito sa kanilang mga Internet Users kumpara satin which is really sad to think about kasi kahit sila may mas madaming gamit sa crypto nila konti lang naman nakikinabang, compared sa sitwasyon natin madami nga tayong may hawak ng cryptocurrency wala naman pag-gagamitan. For any business/foreign investors this 17% could be seen as a very big market that has a potential to grow even more, this can easily be translated to demand for them and I know that when they see a market that lacks specific needs sila na din ang kusa na papasok sa bansa para gumawa ng business na crypto-related para sa mga crypto users na ito and to add on going pa din ang developments sa Crypto Valley of Asia project ng CEZA which makes their project more attractive to foreign investors since Hootsuite's data already has given them a peak of what their market will look like if they invest in the Philippines. I just see to myself that the crypto industry here in the Philippines is blooming because it has the potential, madami na tayong humahawak ng cryptocurrency paano pa kaya pag naging mas malawak ang gamit at acceptance nito?
