It would be easier to just make the ASICs use sockets like CPUs.  Then you keep your motherboard and swap the chip.
See thats the kinda reply i like! Good idea! Thanks for contributing

well ... that was the idea from the start ... i told u why it wont happen .. and the "apple" thingie was a example ... duh ...
ahhh but it wasnt the idea i was basing my idea off the 4 pin phoneblok idea. but the user mentioned having a cpu like chip.
which i hope you know has more than 4 pins

The idea of a standard being developed and the chips being swappable is a cool idea - but unfortunately I doubt it will happen  Sad

Phone goes to low-battery-usage mode if you aren't using it at the moment. If it would mine while idling then it would eat-up whole battery in no time. Especially that you must have internet connection to submit shares.
Theres a fault for doing it on the phone its self. but using the board and simlar chips still has no fault

Ok theres a new phone concept out called "Phonebloks"  http://www.phonebloks.com/

You can add and remove pieces such as battery,processer,camera... wouldnt the board idea work with modified asic chips?
and a bigger board. then when a new asic comes out you just upgrade the chips on the board.

I really see no reason as to why it wouldnt work.

Anyone got any input or ideas. And is anyone willing to try and out this in action?

Or ever use the phone as a on the go miner???
