Anybody know of any crypto-currency backed by actual assets?

I only know of one crypto-currency backed by assets.

[my note: I posted this in a thread on a different board...but don't know if I posted it in the right place]

Even bitcoin is not backed by physical asset. The common backed crypto is usually peg in USD value, like USDT coin.
But i think i have seen some erc20 tokens is backed by gold value, or something like mining gold and pay dividends to the holders.
Backing cryptocurrency with physical asset is not easy to do because the nature of crypto value is volatile.

Yeah the Libereum is based off ERC20 tokens.

Libereum was the only one I knew that was backed by an asset. It is backed by shares in a football team (and possible a 1 or 2 more) it bought.

https://www.libereum.io/

I am going to have to check some of the other ones out.

A cryptocurrency with a backed physical assets can be an interesting choice, cause it will keep has a value just like the value of the assets, and i believe the price can be more stable than any coins that doesn't has a physical assets on their back.

There is no such crypto yet. I heard a lot about plans, projects suggested buying realty for tokens , but all of them are exit scams.

Actually it is very good to back crypto-assets by real value. Gigzi project is a solid one for backing crypto by precious metals price, like gold. We are talking about "tokenized precious metals". I think this can help in crypto adoption..

Neither USDC nor GUSD nor even USDT is backed by "physical assets" since they are backed by dollars (so they say but I doubt it) and dollars are not physical assets, they are digital as much as regulate bitcoin, the amount of banknotes in the world are much less than the amount of dollars in the world which means there are digital dollars that is not printed.

Physically backed things are like gold coins where one coin equals one ounce of gold or something, kinda like tether but instead of dollars you literally have golds in your deposit directly and not digitally, things you can literally hold in your hand. Gold is something you can literally hold in your hand whereas dollar is something you put into your bank account. However considering bitcoin and crypto is digital, I doubt there is a need to actually back it with something physical.

Why did you decide to learn about such coins? If you think that the white paper says that the coin is provided with some kind of physical asset, then this is not a fraudulent project, then you are mistaken. There are not many such coins, but they are still there, but I know that the team of such projects never provided documents or any other rights to these physical assets, and I believe that this is a hoax. Be careful!

DigixDAO is backed by an actual gold, but I know it as as their concept only, don't know how they actually worked this out.
That's only a concept and there was a bunch of platforms are trying to implement it but they are getting fail. EIDOO will try to reach that idea and it's still in the development progress. that could be a good thing for watch in thsi year.

actually there are many crypto currencies that are backed up by actual assets, for example the Siren Lab (SRN) backup diamond hand watch, Organicco backups are agricultural and many others, we just have to analyze the coins we will invest carefully.
