Yes for now only Bitcoin payments are accepted on the website, but for larger orders I could arrange other methods.
The coins are indeed preloaded with the denomination of the coin.

You accept payment only in Bitcoins right? Or do you also accept credit/bank etc payment?

The Bitcoins are preloaded with actual BTC in them correct?

I made an order for just a couple of 5BTC coins, a few days later an envelope with a rip in the side of it arrived.  I opened it up, and all that was in it was a piece of white printer paper.  So apparently when mailed, USPS was extremely careless with it and ripped the envelope or someone decided to steal them.

I contacted the seller, and he is sending me replacements for free as well as some extra.  Anyhow, the only reason I am posting is to say this: THANK YOU arashd.  Most people probably wouldn't replace an order for free, especially if it wasn't their error.  So, thanks again! Smiley

I want to thank everyone who purchased one of my coins for their kind review of the quality and thought behind them. I hope you enjoy the coins. These coins are now sold out. Rest assured, I have some new coins that I have been developing for months and are now in production. They are going to be an amazing addition to the community and I appreciate all the purchasers of these current coins, as they have helped me fund this new endeavor. I find myself so excited about them, I have trouble calming down. They are gorgeous and will be a bit more functional than the my previous offering Wink Stay Tuned! Hope to launch by the end of June. And as we say in New Orleans, Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Can't wait to see what your next coins are like, judging by the first ones I am very exited.
although i like Casascius coins,
I have been trying to think of alternative ways to give physical coins value (unscrew?, exchange?, silver?)
as i feel the hologram is always the weak point.

Whatever you come up with, I would love to be one of your first customers for MK2.

Just as a thought but how does the law change if instead of exchanging the coins for fiat cash, you were to exchange for digital bitcoins or bitcoin vouchers, the coins could then hold value without the mess of dealing with money.

Im sure you have looked in to many ways to make this work and you have already sold off a lot of coins however I am interested in the legal side of things.

Perhaps even exchange for the likes of amazon gift cards, profit could be made on the affiliates fee and maybee the coins be very close to the real bitcoin cost, therefore making real life usage of the coins a possibility.

I might just be over/under thinking things. Tongue

Let me know!

Your order shipped on 4/22 - and should take between 10 -14 days for delivery. The coins are heavy and I am not charging much for them so I ship with basic international post Wink

Sent a PM, please let me know if I am not late to the offer.

Making arrangements to put all my funds into one location for my offer. (A location that is acceptable for you. Tongue)

EDIT: Arrangements made, just need to hear that coins are left, and the value in (USD), for my order.

Should be all set to go in an hour or two. Banks are snail-slow on Sunday... online banks... real banks are not open. Smiley (It should be illegal to "not be open", if you are a bank. Should be a federal law, "owners of currency will have unrestricted full access to their funds, at all times. In a FDIC ensured bank."... And they wonder why people don't like using banks! Economy-fail... They dug their own grave, and bitcoin will seal it, tap new screws, super-glue it, set it under cement, drown it in the ocean, and laugh at them! Tongue)

I don't think its necessary to make one side flat in order to make it bitcoin-loadable. I don't know how you plan on doing it, but just generate a QR code of the private key, size it accordingly, apply it so the blank side of the QR code is against the hologram and the inked side will be against the coin. The hologram should be able to handle a slight contour. Just my two cents-I don't want you to ruin one of your coins if trying to make it flat doesn't work out!

Thanks for your input. The answer for flatening the one side of the coin is sandpaper, hours of rubbing it on sandpaper. Got the idea from this: http://www.m.haly.dsl.pipex.com/UFO_Photo/lap_CPU.jpg
Though, i will have to nickel (and/or gold plate) them on that side again. The biggest problem that i found is the damn hologram-stickers.

I will sacrifice one of those coins when they come, to see how it turns out. If i fail they will be just be a nice addition to my collection Smiley
What do you mean problems with the holograms?

I'd guess it would be that the adhesive tends to lift plate off of the base metal.

Yes that's pretty accurate, but hopefully some new products will be more successful
Why didn't you make fundable coins like the Casascius physical bitcoins? Every coin would have a Bitcoin address and a private key hidden inside and then they would be really backed up by real bitcoins like the Casascius coins.

They look awesome regardless! Smiley

If i understood his intention was to be something like a bank. Whoever had those coins would actually hold the real value(without having the priv key) of those coins to trade with other people or return to him for the actual coin value. Erm, i think thats why each coin in the pics have a different code on them (just like usd's or euros bills)

I think he didnt chase it much for them to succeed and now selling them as is to cover his costs for making them.

That said i may have misunderstood their point, though im gonna try to make the back side flat (the side that says "new orleans") of the coins i ordered, and print out private keys for each to stick there, just like casascius ones. If i succeed you will see a thread popping up in here in a few days Wink

just curious, did you get these made from the same people that make the dubloons?

edit: these coins are stunningly beautiful

I love the reference to New Orleans Mardi Gras dubloons. For those of you who are not familiar, during Mardi Gras parades every year, the people riding the parade floats will throw out lots of stuff (beads, stuffed animals, toys, and dubloons). The dubloons are souvenir coins marking the parade occasion. I have a large collection of them in fact. The dubloons are usually stamped out of thick aluminum, our coins were made in a real coin press mint with real metal. I have some photos for comparison, but I hope for future coin products to be able to feature some of the designs and culture of new orleans in our designs!

And as we say in New Orleans, Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Coins from Nolacoin.com - which never got off the ground!

For Sale in this post are a selection of physical coins that were once intended to be the main product of a company I incorporated, called the Bitcoin Exchange of New Orleans. The original purpose of our product was to provide a physical coin that would carry the weight of Bitcoin that would be guaranteed by our corporation. We were going to create a central authority and regulator to guarantee the value of the coin (totally contrary to the purpose of a true Bitcoin). Why were going to do this, and who was our target audience for sale? We were going to target the average person who may have heard of Bitcoin on the news or on the internet, but were unwilling to manage and online wallet, fund an exchange to purchase Bitcoin, or otherwise were just curious. The coins were to be purchased from our website, in USD, and they value of the coin would rise or fall with market value of Bitcoin. The customer (or anyone in possession of the coin) could then return to the coin to us, and receive the current market value of he Bitcoin.

What resulted was indeed total failure.

In our attempts to make everything described above legal, our state of incorporation was Louisiana. The regulatory laws with regards to investment banking are more lax, but ultimately still too complex and costly to make our business model worthwhile.

Also, credit card merchant accounts were unwilling to allow us to accept regularly currency for our products, due to the fact the coins could be return at a higher or lower value. In the end, we were never able to launch this product, and not a single coin was actually sold. (Although we did give away some to forum members this past summer)

So what do we have left? Lots of absolutely gorgeous and well-constructed coins! We had a medium sized sample made of the 1, 5, and 10.
These coins are truly wonderful. They carry a strong weight, a beautiful shine, and I am very proud of the design. Each coin has a serial number, which was vital for the proposed purpose of the coins.

Our website, while still on the internet, is less than functional, but you can go to it and see some more photos.

I will be selling off the remaining coins on this forum until all gone. Again the coins hold no value at all. But I think they are really nice and would be worthwhile for a Bitcoin enthusiast and they would make great poker chips!

1 Bitcoin Token

Single Ring Construction with in Zinc and plated in Nickel

5 Bitcoin Token

10 Bitcoin Token

I’ve had these coins in my possession for over a year, and they have received plenty of pocket time with other coins and keys and travels. They construction is solid, they don’t chip or crack. They have a great ring to them when you drop them.
