I don't see how some of the premiums can hold if the price rises but I don't really care. I want one as a long term investment. Even if bitcoin itself dies they'll have historical value.

As far as physical coins what I like best is the opportunity they present to talk with others about bitcoin who otherwise would blow the idea off. Cool

Not yet, but can't wait to load two of these bad boys up with as much BTC as possible, target is 10.5 (21 Total) for my twins. Also anticipating a 3 piece silver set from a different mint and load it with 2000, 1000, 500 LTC.

I was always into coins growing up, so its kinda nostalgic for me. If I have too much coin in my hot wallets I tend to make (a) make stupid bets, (b) make stupid trades, or (c) give it away to people.

A physical coin makes me WAY less likely to do that.

I have few physical "bitcoin coins", but only one that have 1btc (and isn't a very expensive one) , the others only have some cents of bitcoin, or haven't any bitcoin or private key (blank wallets). I like them as collectionist product, and some like art product.
People that think that in a future they could pay with a physical bitcoin coin, don't understand what bitcoin is, and that physical bitcoins are only wallets.

I am always amazed by the cost over spot of PM physical bitcoins.
I can't imagine a 1BTC silver coin that cost say 3BTC rising significantly in price because of PM price appreciation, nor Bitcoin appreciation.

I get that they are rare, but I would pay a few $ over silver spot value for one + the BTC value + say 5%, but the actual costs always seems crazily high to me.

Started my collection of Physical Bitcoins only last year and I would say it's a unique kind of hobby. We may have heard of people collecting stamps, mugs and coins in every country they visit but collecting physical Bitcoin is different, you have to believe in Bitcoins before you will appreciate collecting Physical Bitcoins.

and as for my reason, it is just to hold one as a collectible nothing else. it is a nice thing to hold and make a collection coins over the years.

Graded ones are great to act as 'savings accounts'.

You can send more bitcoins to the address of the coin,
and if you ever need to spend them you destroy some
of the coin's collectors value, which is the incentive to
keep it intact.

It is just nice to have something in you hands instead of just thinking about them in you wallet.
I would buy some if I actually had a whole bitcoin to put into one of those physical coins.
I think it is pointless to have one if it doesn't hold any actual value = not having any thing on it.

Great idea you made your physical coin.Much better if you laminate the code,as moist may erased the printed writings.

For me, I like the idea of having a physical coin as a collection.Its a good reminder of its presence and a funded one can be considered as an investment.As we know,Bitcoin appreciate through time.

I currently do not hold any physical coins, and chances are I will not hold them in the future. I don't really see a use for them aside for novelty, and I don't really have any connection to novelty items. They seem like an unnecessary expense most of the time.

I bought a $2.99 physical "bitcoin" from ebay awhile ago and pasted a small but scannable private key QR code at the back of it; placed it in a plastic coin holder/container, and print a transparent label with the public key to stick at the back holder- which made the QR code unscannable, but still "visible".

Of course this is my DIY and anyone who get hold of the coin can easily open the coin holder and scan the private key. It has a quarter BTC.

Get Paid Crypto To Walk or Drive

I hold a variety of physical bitcoins from most of the various retailers of them. There are many reasons that I hold them. They are incredibly beautiful first off. Every single coin more shiny than the last and I absolutely love that. Most are incredibly rare in todays markets, and that will only increase over time as more and more people get into bitcoin and want them.
They are also a really great way to store bitcoins. I have various denominations that I know are safe, and its a great way to put away bitcoins for the future.
My main concern is that the bitcoin price will increase, but these will reduce in value proportionately and will be denominated in USD. Who knows though. they are still really neat and fun to have around.
