price is pretty stable but i'm not sure as these things change quickly, better than having it in btc's though in terms of stability.

So I wanted to get your guys thoughts about having a retirement fund in physical gold stored in a safety deposit box or fire proof gun case.

Back in the 30's FDR confiscated gold from Americans. Gold in a safe deposit is an easy target for an insolvent government.

If you bought it when BTC price was at it's high, for BTC I think you made a great deal. Now I don't know. Myself as most people here are not experts in those stuff. If you want a retirement fund best open a IRA account if you are younger or some other savings account. Don't see any other way to have a better return, guaranteed that is.

I think gold is a great insurance in case shit hits the fan. However, I would keep most of my money somewhere generating income, probably stocks of some sort.
+1 more or less stable stocks is my choice.
Gold is dropping in price slowly but steady...

A physical gold allocation is wise
Just make sure you balance your retirement portfolio out with equities and cryptos
