They do have a wallet now.  I've used it and it seems to work fine.  It uses test PI you can send to other wallet holders.  I've tried this and the test pi gets sent and received without problems.

the idea would also be good a program to mine from the mobile phone, currently there are very few of them but it has been a long time since there has been no news of the pi network and the token has never been listed on an exchange so we do not know its real value
They dont even have a wallet to send at the moment so it's far from realisation but like people sad it its free so no harm done for now. It's hard to make it work but until its possible its worth pressing it once a day.

Been mining it for a year, though there’s really no harm done on my phone whatsoever so I continued mining daily. I have still have some doubts with the project, but this is part of my experiment lets see what happen if it hit exchanges though Its my due diligence and willing to gamble with this and didn’t spent a single cent.

Meto.  No harm no cost.  All upside if you ask me for potential profits if they materialize.  If not delete the app and move on.  No biggie.

Mining Pi doesn't cost anything and it doesn't use any resources on your phone from what I can tell.  The only downside is that  It keeps running as long as you restart it every 24 hours.  The coins that the "pioneers" mine will transfer to their non custodial wallets once the node is ready to go.  Other than that, what harm is it to see what happens?  I could end up having some monetary value.  BTC started off with no value too.

Currently all Pi "pioneers" who have been mining on their phones will get the pi they mined transferred to the wallet once it's ready.  Right now they are testing it giving everyone 100 pi.

Isnt pi network hype already passed away? I remember the era when pi advertise their project everywhere and many people installed them on the phone just like ETN mining in the past.
I remember ETN, mining ETN on mobile devices takes time and consumes mobile space. Each individual can only mine ETN in small quantities, which looks very time-secret and has little value.
As for Pi, I noticed that there are systems of Pi mining, it's like multi-level games. Whoever mobilizes more people to join their network gets more coins. I have seen accounts with millions of Pi. So if you do this personally, without the network it won't create much value.
I just observed Pi and was not interested in this project.

... Snip..

Next Bitcoin? are they dreaming, they better get the facts first, it's fully decentralized they have full control on everything and they are asking for KYC and they are monetizing their platform, they are users, and they want to make a profit out of their users, they don't have a chance at all to enter even in the top 100, once they distributed the tokens, those who mined will dump it, and leave it.
Airdroppers are the people shilling this Pi network of a thing, since they can actually earn free tokens from it, hoping it will be the next bitcoin, i don't even think it's possible to mine with a mobile phone, but those devs have decided to fool tons of people making them feel like they are mining something useful not knowing they are actually helping the devs to make good money becuz just as you said there are ads on the app, imagine 1 million people mistakenly clicked those ads even for once, those devs are making shit load of money, damn.

After all, if a person who never invested even into bitcoin suddenly gets an interest towards PI that means that project team must be doing something right, that seems like a possible deal. I am not saying it will go above everything else, but a possible increase could happen if they keep going like this. I also think that it could turn into something myself as well, it is not an empty deal, but I just think marketing is done better than the actual work.

yeah, and get interest since there is no investment, you install some app and collect money on your phone, could not be better, isn't it?
and in reality, you collect some Pi coins that are not on the blockchain, do not have any value, and will never have value, everyone just want to sell theirs when there will be a chance, I will skip it

I have to admit this is a great job done by the people behind Pi. If it's three, 13 million people had installed his app, that's a huge number and with KYC it will be a valuable database. I guess they will be able to sell it for a good amount of money. 13 million people who believe in Santa, are so naive that it is possible to sell them whatever you want.

There is no way a mining can be done in the phone device, it's absolutely impossible, the hardwares used have greater GPU space and with good efficiency compared to the ones in phone device even in PC,  Pi network teams are sort of scammers trying harder to get access to peoples storage files and get rid of all their secret keys, who knows if the recent hack of wallet is operated by pi network hired scammers. I may be wrong anyway.
They might be scammers (or not) I wouldn't know that but they are great in marketing, that is their positive. I know one person who has absolutely nothing to do with crypto and never invested into anything, including bitcoin, asked me about Pi for example, that was the moment I realized I may not invest into this, but it will grow, maybe in price or maybe in user numbers but I know that it will grow.

This Pi network is literally everywhere right now, I have seen so many people talking about it, I guess everyone mining it now are hoping it will become the next bitcoin in the future since its free and doesn't have any value now, personally I don't see any reason why I should mine this coin, can anyone explain to me the real use case, cuz the only thing I see people post is about how it's going to be the next big thing in crypto  Cheesy.

I too used the app for over a year and stopped using it after they started displaying ads while providing users with fake promises. I completely left the platform after they started enforcing KYC without any clear roadmap of listing. And it's been more than a year and they still don't have anything. They collected users personal info and no one know how it's been used. The tokens remain only on numbers and not on an actual blockchain.

I also stopped using this application, those ads they are displaying will give them millions of dollars of revenue, imagine the millions of people they've been used and still using to make a profit from their website, people who are participating should realize that they are being used by the developers to make money and they will continue to extend it so they can make a lot of money, that is why these developers are not launching their project here for fear of criticism.

Pi is scam

Mobile miners need KYC to withdraw coins. This to me means that Pi at best is airdrop of coins. Airdrop is not mobile mining.

The world first mobile mineable coin on real phones is Nengcoin (NENG).  NENG is scrypt coin mineable on android phones starting in summer of 2020.  The second coin that is mineable on mobile phone is Cheetahcoin (Nengcoin fork on SHA256).  Both coins have randomSpike on top of scrypt/SHA256 that allows CPU miners to get 20% of all block rewards while ASIC miners obtain 80% of rewards.

Pi has no blockchain.  KYCed mining for phone miners are not mining, they are fake, just airdrop.

The real mobile mineable coins today are Nengcoin and Cheetahcoin,  a new type of scrypt and SHA256 coins.

It does not mine anything as of now. Thus no battery drain. This is because the pi ecosystem need a certain number of users to actually start functioning. So until we reach that threshold and people start mining (as a node on PC) the coin practically has 0 value
If you're a techie and want to know how pi actually works, refer it's White paper it's on the Pi Network discord or the app or the site basically it's everywhere
I agree that there is no real value but we need to think about the marketing. A lot of people know about Pi network ant that has some value to it. If they can do it right maybe there can be something from it.

Pi is a phone app trying to monetize and has over 13 million users.  What do you guys think about this?

https://research.aimultiple.com/pi-network/

https://medium.com/the-blue-stars/pi-network-will-be-the-next-bitcoin-of-the-future-d571ffda58f9

I have heard that they are spying into your phone as there is no mining which can be done on the phone. I myself wont recommend to get involve in this PI network and risk your security/identity as we don't know what data they are monitoring on our phone.
It's something that is advisable to download into old phones knowing that there are risks like this. pi doesn't really have a value right now and as far as I can see the team is just keeping their project going and doesn't have a plan yet to conduct a crowdsale. Pi network is existing for more than a year and I believed that there are only a few miners in the early stage that are still mining on their application today because their token isn't tradable.

What do you guys think about this?
What I think? The issue I have with all these phone mining stuff is "withdrawal", apart from clogging up my phone space by downloading the app. It isn't just enough to mine Pi, what should be of concern is if it's really accessible to withdraw it after mining on the phone? I tend to see phone mining the same way I see faucets — an endless time of stress without meaningful achievement. However, I do hope Pi isn't like that.

I think it is on the way down. Coinmarketcap even stopped tracking it.
Where in coinmarket is it listed because I can't find any trace of it, even as untracked.

Pi Network does not mine the coin directly but it is more like a simulation, if you are interested in mobile mining based project or a light project/eco-friendly project that can be mined everywhere without many resources, you can try Neuralium: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-ium-neuralium-mainnet-launch-date-confirmed-january-23nd-2021-1100-5-5297039
I have been using it for a while, and it is as light as a normal wallet when you are mining it directly using your Desktop or Mobile.
It does not have any value right now since it just went live 3 months ago.

Pi Network group will begin the mission to deliver it to the general population and many say that the cost of the Pi is too expensive, everyone like that thought yet with billions of supply and no use or stage this symbolic will go no place and the large numbers of individuals will acknowledge that.I have nothing to free aside from the brief period went through consistently to clock the dig button.I believe that for a novice or an individual with restricted monetary resources,This is My assessment don't give the encouragement to join access the desire for its value later on.

It is time-consuming and space-consuming on the phone, which we thought coins actually weren't, there was a lot of shady with this project. There have been many articles analyzing the Pi network and I don't need these coins even if it's valuable. Be wary of it, do not let the invitation to join in the hope of its worth in the future.

Not a Pi supporter so don't take this as me shilling but you're wrong. It doesn't consume anything except space on your phone (and a small space compared to most other apps).

As pointed above by many, Pi uses a predetermined mining rate for you. As long as you activate the app, and close it it still collects for you. I still think it's a useless token though:)

The people who share their opinion are the ones who trust the pi project. Many say that it is legit and one of the coins that will be trending soon and many say and proof that pi can be paid at selected stores and malls in case it becomes this is successful the holders and miners of pi will be rich when the day comes to my mind that it is very easy to mine coin in their apps 🤔.

It's nah for me. Waste of phone's energy and battery life span.
Pi doesn't use your battery or any energy. Only you have to click a button in 24 hours. You can check if your mobile is switched off, pi will be mining, because it doesn't use battery or CPU. I have been mining for 8 months but I don't remember that pi has done anything to mobile. So I think it's safe.

It's the KYC that is not acceptable imagine giving all your information for tokens that will worth a few cents because of the billions of supply, people will later regret selling their information for $10 worth of coins which they mined for two or more years, this is another shitcoin in the making, no one here is supporting it.

I have been mining on Pi for 2 years i think, but until now there is no option to withdraw the earning, so this is SCAM !
There is no way mining can be done on your phone device and even your PC even a graphic card can't generate more hashing power anymore, a standard software with high GPU is liable to mine any coin at the moment, any platform that tells you to mine their coin in their site is prolly a scam project, what it's been done on pi network site is faucets not mining so be aware of these terms while interacting on the forum.
Pi network main aim is bringing in traffic to their site while decieving their customers with mining technique. Stay away from pi network for God sake.

I already uninstalled this app from my mobile a long time ago when I realized that this project has no future at all whatever the pi team has presented in the past couple of years, a useless mobile mining application and nothing much I still don't understand what pi team is trying to prove, creating hype for a useless product is not called development.

I don't trust this project, they're not going to get positive feedback from the Crypto community, only newbies who are willing to surrender their important details for a token that does not have value, I stopped doing their miner because they are asking a lot from miners and the supply is not something that gives potential to the project.

Uninstalled Pi network app already. Not having long patience and also without assurance of good return with what you mined.

They are just giving hopes to those users that Pi will gonna have a value if it will successfully launched. But I doubt if it will really give that much as I can't see any great use as of now aside from affiliate marketing system.

Does these 13 million users is a legitimate stats from minepi? and are these people have anyway to sell their minepi tokens?

Pi don't use your phone's battery or CPU power to mine. It's just a pre-defined amount set within their algorithm that you get after specific time duration. So it doesn't cost you anything to mine Pi.

I used to mine Pi earlier but now they have started showing their true colors. Everyone will have to comply with their KYC rule to withdraw and use Pi token. Which is really absurd so I am not using it anymore. For a token which is not listed in the market and doesn't require a dime to mine, complying with KYC can be a costly mistake.

It's just an overhyped project which got so much attention but still failed to use this initiative. They even use Adsense to their mining app to earn some money which is funny. A well pre-planned project won't do this also as you have mentioned about their KYC. This coin is not tradable but they have implemented KYC right now which is suspicious.

Indeed! They have recently stopped their kyc for a while due to some technical issues but they didn't rule it out! Also as per their plan, Pi will be listed to the exchanges by the end of 2021. So they will come back with kyc requirement shortly again. Which is really suspicious!

Btw, I didn't see any adsense advertising in Pi app. Are you talking about PHT token?

When I saw Pi Network's data on coinmarketcap that was already on the untracked list, in my opinion it was better to avoid projects like this.
I myself have never tried to use the Pi Network to mine cryptocurrency, so I don't know the disadvantages and advantages of the Pi Network.
But I was not interested when I saw Pi Network on coinmarketcap which was already on the untracked list, for me if Coinmarketcap just stopped
tracking about Pi Network it is definitely not a good project to use.

I don't think it's worth it, As far as I know, their "mining application" isn't really a mining application. I think it's just a mining simulation since they stated on their FAQ that it does not affect phone performance, drain your battery or use a data network which is the complete opposite of the real mining.

I can see it as a form of a pyramid scheme that needs no investment, Users of this project are spamming all over the internet and I've been noticing them since then. They need to invite people to join them for their mining rate to be boosted.

Pi Network - in my opinion a very interesting and unique application that allows you to mine tokens using your mobile phone without much stress on the battery. But to be honest, I myself have not used this application for earning or mining tokens, because I do not think that you can really earn a lot with it. Although I think that for a beginner or a person with limited financial resources, this method is quite suitable. Pi Network is available to everyone, unlike expensive mining farms.
There have been a use case in Croatia but still I'm not big believer for now. Hope they plan to do something with it and not leave it like this for so long.

A friend introduced me to this mobile minning program last year, I've been minning ever since then, though I can't really say for sure what the future holds for this project, but what I can say for sure is that if all I've been reading online about the project is true and comes to reality, then the project is likely to become huge in the future, and the fact that minning is just a click of a button everyday which doesn't affect my device or battery in anyway, it makes it all exciting cus really, I have nothing to loose except for the little time spent every day to clock the mine button.

I don't believe on it either but it consumes the power of your phone that's why it drains battery and lessening its life span. It's just a show that they are allowing you to mine.
But that's not really mining at all.

But once you activate their app, it will consume your battery. Now that they're asking KYC, well, that's the downfall or they really are going down because there's no concrete plans.

Isnt pi network hype already passed away? I remember the era when pi advertise their project everywhere and many people installed them on the phone just like ETN mining in the past.

What do you guys think about this?
It's nah for me. Waste of phone's energy and battery life span.
Pi is a phone app trying to monetize and has over 13 million users.
Does these 13 million users is a legitimate stats from minepi? and are these people have anyway to sell their minepi tokens?

It's just an overhyped project which got so much attention but still failed to use this initiative. They even use Adsense to their mining app to earn some money which is funny. A well pre-planned project won't do this also as you have mentioned about their KYC. This coin is not tradable but they have implemented KYC right now which is suspicious.

I have been watching its promotion all over social media and even some friends asked me directly as well but without full blockchain infrastructure, no use cases and no real demand this seems nothing but an empire built on stories, my opinion will change once i see something solid about them.

I saw this application on social media. Lots of people are downloading this app with big wish. People are trying to increase their references by posting on social media. However, I do not download this application. In fact, the total supply of this currency will be very high i think. I'm worried about the price of this currency. I know demand can control price.  Let's see the price in future.

let's admit it, people want easy money and this is what the promoter of this phone mining is preaching, it's so easy just open your phone mine Pi and wait for it to hit the market so people can dump it, everyone like that idea but with billions of supply and no usage or platform this token will go nowhere and the millions of members will realize that.

... has over 13 million users ...
The only way this claim can be proven is by looking at the number of coin holders. Even now I can't find their transaction explorer site.

By the way I found this https://etherscan.io/token/0xc456dee9254c10863131b1e1e797d457d5b8d023
If this was theirs, how would someone mine the tokens?

partnered into crypto exchanges sites.
But don't expect to get a reputable exchange partner.

I don't know about this project as of now there still in development and its been years, I have been a member since the launching of this project but seeing that it is not even launching any good results, and after that, I stopped being active, I suppose they need something more like working, partnered into crypto exchanges sites.

many people download their apps with great hopes. But for me it is nothing more than a garbage project. Someone is adding money to their money while someone's phone batteries and processors are garbage. I am of the opinion that it should definitely be avoided.
Actually PI app has no harmed on batteries and processors contrary to what you are saying Pi coins are only mined by tapping the mine button on the app and a timer not actually using a cpu since its only a timer no POW like bitcoin, eth I know this since I have app on my old phone and mining since 2019, Im not sure what will happen in the next 1-2 years on Picoin but who knows this will have a value just like btc right? The team did not launched any fund raising or ICO instead to fund the development of Piapp they monetize the app with ads which is not bad for me instead of an ICO where investors have to invest millions of money then list on exchanges for Pump n Dump and after 5-6 months dumped and team runaway this happened on most ICO last 2017-2018, right?

So IMHO there's nothing wrong trying to install this app and mine you can also turn off ads if you want you are not forced to run ads it all depends on you. Remember Doge which only created as a meme coin just for fun and also criticize by many is now top 15 in cmc, I also laugh at NANO before and did not try the free NANO from only doing Capcha faucets but look top 87 in cmc, think about it goodluck to early adopters, peace to haters lol.  Grin

Thanks for the bit more detailed explanation I couldn't have explained it better  Smiley because I have it in my phone as well since 2020 though and I have never experience any problem with my phone with regards to the app and since you don't really invest any thing per say like cash in it, of cause why not try it out and see what happens down the line and like you mentioned, look at some that have done it and people thought it was a waste of time but that don't mean this might turn out same but just saying.

Can you give us where you store the open source code of Pi project? Is it an open-sourced code project?

Download and install app on my phone to mine Pi coin. It will kill my mobile and it is more terrible if I mine Pi coin on the device I am using to store my bitcoin or to log in and trade on crypto exchanges.

The Picoin team can promote any word to shill their project and I don't judge that Pi coin is a good or bad project. However, please stop compare any altcoin to bitcoin and say this altcoin will be the next bitcoin.  Undecided

Their hopes will kill their devices and give the opportunities for bad guys to steal bitcoin and cryptocurrency or accounts.

I understand the scare for things like this but from what I have read about the project and their phone mining of Pi, it doesn't actually use up any battery cos your phone can be switched off and still mine but i wouldn't really call it mining but more like gathering however I don't know if this same felling where thought about Electroneum (ETN) back in 2017/18 when they too came up with phone mining, that one actually drained your battery cos you phone needs to be on and data connected for it to mine.
