I was thinking on applying also as a Merit Source, but I'm really not sure what would the public says about my application, though its not for me but for the Local Board so I guess I might just take all the insults if there will be.

I'm still on my way on building my profile, but I think there are more users who needs help more than myself. So I will think carefully before I apply, and spend my time asking for some advices.

Thanks for the support. I do agree that the local board needs the merit sources to be fair with those who are efforting and know the languages. I did show a graph with the current situation of the local boards. You could see it here. I have noticed improvement towards the local board and needs to be addressed with merits because they deserved it.

I hope this could be the first step in the improvement of the local board. No matter the choice that makes, I vote for the improvement of the board. Maybe this could lead to more active and quality members participating in the local board which would benefit not just the local board but the whole forum.

You can count on me bro, you have my support . If me, a Full member, know the struggle of earning merits then what more for those beginners (newbie to jr. Members) out there who also make quality posts, share the most sensible things they could offer, maintain the obedience inside this forum and yet don't receive merits.

Actually, I oftenly see rants about merit system coming from our fellow Filipinos but I can't do anything aside from giving them advice that they should embrace it and comforting them somehow. Well, if a particular member is an optimistic one then there would be no problem, but how about the weak-hearted ones? Probably they may decide to left here or the worse thing is they might have a bad impression to cryptocurrency in general. I don't want it to happen (nobody wanted too, of course).

Hence, having a merit source would be a very big help. I hope they can see that we're improving now and not like the same way before. I also hope more and more quality posters sprout in our local board in order to prove to the rest of the forum that we really deserve to have a merit source in which sooner or later lead theymos to finally appoint crwth.

That is the least solution that we can have right now. My fellow FMs and SMs are reaching the edge of having sMerits to spend with these new users, so I think it's time for us to make an appeal before we turn out empty handed.

Yes, not all of us can speak well in English but a lot of users who also don't know how to speak English well and yet they are ranking up simply because of being good on their local board where a lot of merit source are there. Its good to have at least one trusted user to become a merit source on every board.


It's almost a year since the MERIT SOURCE APPLICATION OF CRWTH, but let's hope that more Filipino user will file their application to increase the chance to have a Merit source, try to encourage more trusted users.

Nope. We just do that for we consider that there are some foreign users who visits our local, if we're gonna use pure FILIPINO language, it will become a board we're no foreign can (might not) understand us even if they use Google Translate, just like the other Boards. But then, some of us , like me, has made it into a habit (only here- IRL I can't directly talk straight with pure English)

I do second this but will that have any effect (my seconding), I don't think so. only theymos have the final say maybe if you guys come out in your numbers to make a demand then he might give you guys a source. Or you guys can ask for permission to carryout an in-house election and present your choice to him.
I have visited your local board numerous times due to my topic getting translated to your local language or reference. No doubt there isn't much merit circulating there. I did also notice you guys speak alot of english & sometimes mixed it with your local language, is that how it's spoken or most of you aren't native speakers?

There are some other local boards like India without merit sources,only theymos can decide when to add someone there.

Going straight to the point. YES. There is a whole lot difference from now and the past, discussions are getting fired up, and with my own judgement, I think theyoungmillionaire can agree with this. Even though there are still quite few but the activities are expanding day by day, and this is somewhat I call valid discussions.

Though, I'm saying that, am not qualified but if given a chance I can assure you Forum Leaders it wouldn't be such a waste on giving us a Merit Source.

Our local board is continuously growing and numerous members are actively participating/posting guides around the section. Based from my observation, most of the top-merited users in the forum have received their merits mainly from posting on their respective local board. The lack of a merit source in the Philippines' local board may cause inactivity which can make our boards obsolete in the near future.

Agree with this 100%, and if the problem on the Philippines board is as bad as you say, I would certainly support at least one new merit source there--not that I have any influence with anyone who could get you one or more.  It's definitely a problem with not only merit-seekers but sig spammers when they try to write in a language they don't really know. 

I saw crwth's application not too long ago, and I'm sure Theymos did as well.  That probably means he's not looking to make any new merit sources or doesn't think the Philippines local board needs one.  I tend to think you guys do, and it doesn't hurt to make a thread like this to plead your case.  My question is whether there are enough good posts on that board to justify making a new merit source.  You said there are a lot of shitposters, right?  Are there enough good posters there such that it would be worth it to have another merit source for that section?

Our Local is one of the Worst Section in the past for having an enormous number of shitposters. But now is different, there are new users who qualifies to rank up, and somehow it is gaining some more valid activities compared in the past.

Though we already have Dabs and rickbig41 (Mr.Big) but they aren't counted as Merit Distributors in our Local, why? Just look on Dabs, he's always at the WO Section. And Mr.Big, unlike before he is now busy with forum things. Back then we don't have any problems on awarding Merits because they're on our Local but now only us who earned some Merits are giving those to the new users.

Is it because of our Mods for us not getting any Merit Source even just a single one? In comparison to the other Local boards they have atleast one, and some has two or three Merit Sources.

Couldn't we have just one? (I don't include myself for I'm really not qualified) Can we just have crwth's application to be approved? We can't basically help the new users with just only by our own earned sMerits. It's not always christmas, we might also end up getting nothing in this coming days.

I'm really jealous of those boards who has these Sources. Especially the Russian board who has the largest Merit Distributions.
