I'm Greek and nobody here has heard of it, apart from a few university students I know - and they all treated it like shares. Buy low, sell high, make fiat profit. I recently travelled up to Bucharest, Romania on a university orgnaised trip. The small circle of people I interacted with during my 4 days there also showed me the same situation. People either treat it as a joke, a fad or they're completely oblivious of it. If they actually use Bitcoin they do it in hopes they get €€€ by selling BTC.

That's so ironic, that the countries that are most desperately in need of a blockchain currency (Bitcoin in particular), are the most dumbed-down, propagandized, consumerized, obedient drones. Greece has been destroyed by this kind of ignorance. 3000 years of one of the richest histories and accomplishments in the history of the human species, REDUCED TO SHIT by organized religion, the nation-state, and private banking.

That's an wonderful idea gondel! To be honest, you wouldn't be the first to try an attempt this, including making a short documentary, but that's not important!

You could try www.coinmap.org
There are 16 venues listed there in Athens and a few others across the country.

Enjoy your vacation and let us know how it went!

Edit: You could try starting a thread in english, on the greek forum here, I don't think anyone would mind to be honest.

There aren't any major local mall/sellers accepting BTC in Greece and possibly just 2-3 small shop owners who like BTC themselves. if you want to buy an item like electronics etc... you might find an international seller that would take BTC.

Why don't you just check on Coinmap as a starting reference point?

Really no place in Greece accepting BTC?! This sounds impossible  Huh

There are only a few stores in Greece that accept bitcoin, but in your case these stores are useless

Haven't heard of the service 'Expedia', but the other thing you can do is to sell your bitcoins locally and get some euros (there are some people from Greece who have signed up at localbitcoins and have positive feedback. If you are interested PM me and I can suggest you one person that can help you in this case)

EDIT: You could also open a thread in the Greek board and get tips and advices from the Greek community

In Greece everything is imposibble.. Tongue
Oh that's not cool  Lips sealed

Gondel it sounds amazing you are planning to do this, Expedia will surely help you with the stay, my suggestion would be buy everything you need for those vacation on sites like Overstock, NewEgg so at any rate you will promote Bitcoins...

Have Fun !  Grin

I am from Greece and i can say that if you talk to greeks about bitcoin they will look at you like an alien Tongue There is no place to spent your bitcoin. I think the only way to rent a room to hotels is through expedia.
Hi,
Can I rent not only room through expedia? Can I rent room plus breakfast and dinner? So this way I will pay with cash only for the petrol or the tickets for bus Smiley

Hello to all!
Not sure If here is the place to ask, but I dont know greek language so I am wandering is there a list in English or Spanish or Bulgarian for the places in Greece where they accpet BTC as payment method? I want to go to vacation to Greece and want to spend only BTC if it is possible. Want to try it out and make a short documentary movie of my holiday spending only BTC. Is there also a travel company in Greece which accepts BTC? Thank you all for the great support!
